How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBeautiful rooms central location near public transport and the Colosseum. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area and great recommendations from the hosts. The hosts were extremely attentive and communicative and were the kindest I’ve ever experienced. I’d definitely come back again

Verified reviewFirst of all, Flavio is a wonderful host! He provides you with absolutely all the information before you arrive at the location. He is extremely kind and pleasant. The room is equipped with everything you need: AC, toiletries, high-quality towels, and it is very clean. There is also a shared little kitchen nearby where you have access to coffee and snacks. The location is just a few minutes walk from the Colosseum, where you can find many restaurants and shops. Travelling alone, I really appreciated both the location and the host’s kindness. The room also feels very safe, located in a building with multiple security doors. I definitely recommend this accommodation to everyone, and in the future, I would choose to stay here again whenever I'm in Rome.
I have nothing to complain about.

Verified reviewThe host was excellent in providing check-in support and suggestions as well as arranging an early morning taxi to the airport. The room was quiet and location was close enough to restaurants.
The room was small and fairly warm and the AC only worked when you were in the room. It took quite a while to cool down and never got cold. The lift wasn’t working so you have to carry your luggage up a few small flights of stairs.
Thanks for the review, I have to say that the room is not small by our standards, as it is 16 square meters, the air conditioning has been designed exactly in this way to avoid guests having it on while being outside (a real waste of energy), if you set the fan speed of the airconditioning to the maximum power it takes less than 10 min for the room to be cold, maybe you didn't set it right and didn't ask as well for instructions. The apartment is on the first floor, to use the elevator, it needs a ke,y and it would be too complicated to give it to each guest, being the apartment at first floor we think there is no need for that and that is the reason why on the description is indicated that there is "NO ELEVATOR". regards, Flavio

Verified reviewIt took us 2 days to find the kitchen, and we weren’t sure if it was a facility we could use, so we didn’t. More information would have been helpful
Thanks for your review, we tought it was clear that there is a kitchen in the B&B for one reason because in the booking.com page is quiet clear from the pictures and from the description but moreover because it is just at the end of the corridor where the rooms are. Having said that, the kitchen is free to use for coffees and snaks and this could have been resolved just by a whatsapp message, we are sorry for the misunderstanding and will take into account a better signalation of the kitchen area, regards, Flavio :)

Verified reviewFabio was an excellent host, we only booked from Rome airport as we were let down by our booking, so I was extremely stressed. Fabio messaged within minutes of booking, clear instructions, even spoke to the taxi driver to explain where they were. Location is fab, 5 minutes straight down the road to Colosseum, multiple bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk, but area felt safe and was quiet. Our room was the smallest room, but it was very clean and fully equipped, and the shared Kitchen was a lovely touch with coffee and snacks to help yourself to.
Our room was small, but we booked it half an hour before we arrived, so I was just so grateful to have a bed .But we still stayed for the full 4 nights. We only slept in the room so didn't need anything any bigger, but Fabio does do bigger rooms, and he did offer us discount because we were in such a small room.

Verified reviewSo close to the colosseum, literally a 4-5 minute walk. Beautiful coffee shops and restaurants on its doorstep. Felt very safe, and room is beautiful. Extra bonus is the little kitchen area where you can cook and have coffee every morning. Honestly couldn't fault the place and the host Flavio is very helpful
