Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is so charming, and the staff is extremely kind and makes it a point to get to know you. The food was really lovely, and I loved the wine tasting I did with Roberto. While the pool was a bit cold because it’s not heated, it was refreshing given the heat and the views were stunning. I liked walking up to the vineyards and saw deer several times. I didn’t realize there is also an agriturismo across the main road, and would have liked to visit it. I stayed in the Montepulciano room, which was very large with a very comfortable bed. The only thing I didn’t like was the mildew smell in the bathroom which I think is secondary to the cloth shower curtains. It was pretty strong and affected the smell of the whole room. However, I did not stay in the room much, and overall loved the property and would go back again.

United KingdomI loved everything but have a few recommendations for the owners. It would be great to have a hotel shuttle available to go to Montepulciano. A €25 one way trip for 3 min drive in a local taxi is rather excessive.
The villa is a gorgeous hidden gem in Tuscany. Surrounded bu lush olive grove, vineyards and rose garden this place is a perfect romantic getaway.

A very nice villa just a short drive from Montepulciano. Lovely large room with a comfortable bed. Good internet access. Very nice infinity pool with amazing views. We had dinner at the hotel on our first night and could definitely recommend it. Ample parking. Would definitely recommend as a great location to discover the heart of Tuscany.

AustraliaThe only downside was the sometimes spotty Wi-Fi, but in truth, it helped us unplug and truly enjoy each other’s company in this stunning setting.
Villa Cicolina was pure Tuscan magic — perfect for a romantic getaway and a wonderful place for our family to create memories together. The infinity pool overlooking the vineyards took our breath away, and the gardens were a paradise for both quiet moments as a couple and playful afternoons with the kids. The staff treated us like family, always kind and attentive, and the cozy yet elegant rooms made everyone feel comfortable and special. Breakfasts on the terrace were a delight for all of us, with fresh pastries and fruits that our little ones adored.

A breathtaking slice of history in the tuscan countryside. Beautifully decorated and the staff were all incredible. The wet edge swimming pool and spa were amazing- honestly there is nothing we didn’t love about this stay. Except maybe the having to leave bit :)

What a beautiful property just outside Montepulciano. Magnificent gardens full of flowers and fruit trees, pool area has panoramic views and the dinner was delicious. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage. Each bedroom has a newly renovated bathroom. The decor in the cottage was traditional with just the right mix of contemporary.

CanadaOur room was a “cottage” attached to the breakfast room. The bathroom smelled mildew and the sink was clogged. (Fixed upon request). Air conditioning didn’t seem to be working but we found out the controls were reversed at the end. Our room had a nice garden out front but was basically dark and the kitchen we had was old style and or very functional. There was No air flow in the bathroom and the tub had a type of old sponge paint and was painted but not updated. We ordered food for dinner in the beautiful outdoor dining room but the food was subpar despite the lovely surroundings. Breakfast offerings were very tasty and fresh. Have to walk up a hill to get from parking to the Villa so if you are challenged physically without the assistance of the golf cart you will struggle.
Beautiful grounds and pool, sitting areas and general property was wonderful.

Beautiful, stunning property with a lovely and friendly staff. Gorgeous grounds with gardens and blooming flowers everywhere, olive trees and the beautiful pool. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and we weren't able to use it. Great breakfast and a lovely dinner for the one night they had an open reservation.

United KingdomThat there were no more almond cake for breakfast on the second day :(
Absolutely everything. It was beautiful and delicate without being too much. Everybody was calm and well mannered within the customers and the staff was so so lovely. We had a more modern too because it fits more our style but we love the traditional look of the villa. We did a montepulciano tasting in the wine cave with Raffaela and she was amazing! We really felt like this is a place we would come back to.

AustraliaThis place is indeed a small slice of heaven, effectively slowing your pace enough to literally stop and smell the roses (of which there are many). Each turn is a picture perfect framed vista, the staff are incredibly kind and helpful and the food/wine at the on-site restaurant is a delightful discovery with each mouthful. So much so we found motivation to leave the villa and explore the local area tough! Although you'll be spoilt for choice in the surrounds as well.
