Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe property is well situated for taxis/buses as it is just off the two-way main road going to/from Positano. There is an ATM outside and a small newsagents and mini-market within metres of the front door. There are also bars/cafes nearby. The views from outside the villa are spectacular, with a small playground and beautifully tiled viewing platform adjacent to the property. Walking to the main street in Positano (Piazza dei Mulini) is also possible (as there are several staircase routes that start within 100m of the property). Different staircase routes connect to different points along Viale Pasitea. The owner/operator of the property was friendly, pleasant, and always behind the small reception desk when we left the property each morning (and contactable via whatsapp). This lady was lovely and let us store luggage by reception before departure. The room itself was light, spacious, clean and well maintained. We stayed in a room named Chorisia, which had a large comfortable bed, usb sockets, air conditioning, a large TV, a great shower, and a spacious terrace with hot tub. The terrace is large enough for a table/chairs and two sun loungers and overlooks the bay in front of Fornillo Beach. Overall a great room in a great location.

United StatesMy experience at Villa Fortuna was incredible. Starting with Diana who assisted me with trip planning and helped me along the way with great tips. She was always available and kind. Location phenomenal! the views were amazing and the best part the local bus stopped right in front of the apartment. By far Villa Fortuna has been one of the best places I've ever stayed at. Much recommended. Thank you!!!Diana

United StatesThe only issue was that due to construction there was no street parking, so we had to park in a private lot. Very good parking service, but $40 a night.
Great location up over Positano with stairs leading up to a terrace with a magnificent view of the sea and town. Right next to a coffee shop, grocery store and the bus stop. 2 separate bedrooms for 3 people.

CanadaPrivacy was not ideal, the road and public look out with police station is right beside the balcony. The view from the balcony overlooks other balconies making it a bit to exposed for being out there when other people are around. For the price, there was no breakfast or decent sized fridge for keeping food and drinks. Also it is a lot of stairs and over 20 min walk down to the beach from the hotel with a much more challenging walk up (there is a regular city shuttle but that gets expensive to do regularly both ways).
Decor, comfortable bed, spacious room and balcony with spa tub.

United StatesWe had initially understood from the booking.com website that there was parking available (that got changed later); in fact, host Diana had told us that there was usually "street parking" available near the property in winter (that means cars carefully squeezed up to the sides of the buildings or cliffs!) Unfortunately, soon before we arrived that whole road got closed to parking due to street work, so we needed to park in a garage 500 meters away (quite a hike along the unfamiliar switchback road in the dark!) That turned out ok, although the 2 nights parking (30 Euros per night) came to a cost almost as high as the 2-day cost of the Alamo car rental! Still, we heard that parking is much more costly (up to 50 Euros/night) in the high season, and so would another time either stay in a hotel with its own garage parking (a few had that) or perhaps wouldn't rent a car to go there if visiting in the summertime (or simply wouldn't go there except in the "shoulder" season, as we did). (This time we had so much luggage from our weeks of previous travel around the Mediterranean that we couldn't manage Amalfi coast travel by bus.) We would have appreciated having "bath robes" of some sort (even lightweight cotton, not necessarily terry) supplied, particularly in light of their possible use in relation to the terrace hot tub. However, the bath towels supplied were large and ample as towels, and the bed/bedding comfortable (we did need to request a second comforter for the 2nd night). Also, this a note for booking.com: the Positano properties have to charge a city tax of 2,50 Euro per night per person, which we didn't expect, and so caused some confusion. The final price to be charged should be adjusted on the booking.com site to account for that additional tax.
The lower level apartment where we stayed has a small kitchenette in a comfortable living-dining area, a large bath with very good shower, and a very spacious bedroom that opens out onto a terrace with a view of the sea. The private-seeming terrace has an orange tree, a "hot tub" (that we didn't use), lounge chairs, and a small counter top with bar stools where we could have a snack. On our first evening there, we dined at a nearby cozy local restaurant that had just re-opened for the season (we were there in mid-Feb.: we discovered that was an excellent time for a visit to the Amalfi Coast--particularly since we didn't plan to swim-- as there were no crowds and for the most part very welcoming locals, which is probably not so much the case in high summer). For our second night in the apartment, we were able to get basic ingredients at a nearby "mom and pop" grocery for a simple tasty meal of pasta and salad we made in the little kitchen, so could save some money to compensate for the unexpected expense we had of parking. Except for the lack of ready parking access (a problem year-round in Positano, it seems), we really liked the facility's central location. Diana, our host, was very helpful, also with tips about hiking trails and local buses to take and where to get tickets for those. We highly recommend the Villa Fortuna (particularly the lower-level apartment unit), and also altogether the town of Positano as a base for exploring the coast. (We had rented a car near the Salerno train station for a good price and made our way--patiently and carefully--from there along the coastal road to and from Positano.)

United KingdomAccess to supplies was inconvenient - there was no breakfast so we needed to buy stuff. Parking was a long way away in spite of being told that it was 'nearby' in the amenities description. Very few restaurants were open at this time of year.
