How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewThe location is great in the centre of Parghelia, also close to Tropea and Spiaggia Michelino. Ivana and her daughter is helpful for introducing the facility and always reachable. Ivana shared all necessary information regarding attractions and sightseeing with a long list, that is really helpful.
There is no mention in the ad kids under 15/16 are not allowed to use spa in front of house. During night, it is difficult to sleep well due to noise from the highway next to place. Also for reaching the parking place you are expected to cross that highway which might be not convenient choice for busy hours. While we are trying to dry the swimsuits and clothes in the yard, suddenly garden sprinkler system started to work and it made all clothes wet. That would be nice there is some warning regarding this.
Dear guest, From our parking lot, a very convenient pedestrian path runs through our gardens and takes you to your apartment without having to use the main road. I'm surprised you didn't use it, as it's there specifically for all our guests. I'm sorry that the lawn irrigation got your swimsuits wet; there was an error in the timer setting. I also apologize for the noise from the cars on the road that disturbed you. However, this might be one of the inconveniences of being close not only to the sea but also to the town center, which is within walking distance. Children are not allowed to use the hot tub because it is not recommended and unsuitable for them, but this is clearly stated in the information on Booking.com where you made your reservation. So you were aware of this before booking.

Verified reviewThe villa is very nice and allowed us to have quite and peaceful rest in Italy. The host is also very kind and guided us with all important information about the villa and what to do in the city. The beach is way less crowded than in Tropea! :)

Verified reviewLocation was great. Short walk to a lovely beach and little town with restaurants and shops. Bed was comfortable and aircon worked well. There was a washing machine. Owner was lovely and very helpful and sorry about our issues.
Things were not as clean we would like, hairs in the shower and dishes not clean. The units need refurbishing. Handles were broken and everything shabby.
Thank you for choosing us, the flats will be renovated this winter, for the cleaning I am mortified I will make sure it does not happen again

Verified reviewThe location provides a good starting point for exploring Tropea and the beautiful beaches in the area. There is a BBQ for every appartment and one big common area for a group of people. One of the most beautiful beaches Michelino can be reached by foot.
The appartments are a little dated, but kept clean.

horrible, old and dirty rooms. Dirty dishes in kitchen. Old and ugly furniture. Dog of owner was standing in our sleeping-room with dirty feeds. But we had to pay Euro 20.- extra for our dog per night. On top the second dog of the owner attacked our dog. Don´t believe the pictures! It´s a nightmare there! My wife and me were so frustrated after the time there :-(
I'm sorry, bat I think you have some problem, the judgments of all the other guests are clear, I understand that you may not have liked my apartment, but your judgment is offensive and contemptuous. My dog loved to play with your dog which instead was aggressive, like the owners. I have nothing else to add, I wish you a peaceful and serene life

Verified reviewThe very spacious apartment and garden are beautiful! The host is very friendly and will accomdate you with everything you need. The location is perfect; close to Tropea, the beach and Parghelia! We went by train and could walk everywhere.
