How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe villa was lovely. Our room was spacious, charming, and clean. The outdoor area, with the beautiful pool and garden, was peaceful, and the view was breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and dinner at the hotel was truly excellent. Every meal was full of flavor. We ended up dining there two times and enjoyed it every time. Anthony and Paola, who run the place, were wonderful hosts. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They made sure we felt at home from the moment we arrived, and their kindness truly made our stay special. We were given the best tips on things to see and explore. The rest of the staff were also incredibly skilled and professional. We’ve never experienced such a high standard of cleanliness anywhere else. We had a fantastic time and would return without hesitation. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable getaway. There is so much more we could say, but this is a place you simply have to experience for yourself. We are already missing the place (and the people) and will definitely be back. Big hugs from Norway!
Everything was perfect.

Verified reviewBy far, the very best travel stay experience we have ever had. The host and service staff were absolutely hands down amazing. They went way over and above to ensure we enjoyed not only our stay but also the beautiful Tuscan countryside. We left not feeling we had many new friends but more like an extended family. You will not find a better value or more caring people anywhere.
Everything was perfect.

Verified reviewThe villa is at quite location on the top of the hill with amazing views. Paola and Anthony were very friendly and welcoming. We felt more like we visited friends at their home. They gave us many tips for locations and restaurants which made our holiday even better. If you are looking for a place to forget every day hustle and bustle, this is the one. PS: The view from the swimming pool is just unforgetable!
Ciao Jan, Thank you for your review. We truly enjoyed having you at the Villa and are now part of the Villa La Cappella family. We hope to see you again really soon. A presto, Paola & Anthony

Verified reviewEverything! Anthony and Paola’s villa and hospitality was above all our expectations, we loved every second of it and would definitely come back again! The pictures don’t do justice to the villa and view. The breakfast has a wide selection and Jovanna the chef will always make it as accurate for you as possible with eggs at your choice. Anthony and Paola are the nicest people and will read the situation right on spot - they will give you the space if you need it, while being extra helpful and always available for tips on your vacation or just a great conversation. The rooms are specious and super clean, the view is dreamy and the bed is very comfortable. The villas location is perfect and close to all of Tuscany’s gems plus with every entrance and exit of the villa the amazing views will follow you which is amazingly beautiful! Thank you Paola and Anthony, we’ll be back with our baby boy 🖐🏼 and we’re waiting for our picture! :) Send Kobi and the girls our love! Roi & Liane

Verified reviewThe property is best described as a villa which is family run by the most friendly, warming, beautiful family you will come across. I’ve never left somewhere and got home and wanted to return again so soon. It’s a snippet of paradise with views of the Tuscan hills. The property has a lot of Italian character. At night you can go to the garden and watch the fireflies lighting up the fields which is just magical. Paola and Anthony organised Truffle hunting with a local family which included a cookery class which was 10/10. They also organised a cycling tour on e-bikes around the vineyards and gorgeous countryside with Massimo which was brilliant. The old reviews I personally would not look at as they are from when there were previous owners. The new owners take pride in what they do and are committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible. There simply was absolutely nothing to fault. Thank you Paola, Anthony, Marissa, Coby, Emma and Myla for an unforgettable stay. We will see you again soon.
It was so good we didn’t want to go home.
Dearest Annabelle, You are both truly missed here at he villa. Myla, Emma and Kobe look for the 2 of you every morning. It was sad to see you leave but we know that we will see each other again soon. So happy that you enjoyed the e-bike tour and how wonderful to spend the day truffle hunting with you both. Big hugs to Winnie from your Villa La Cappella family.

The grounds and swimming pool were a delight. Peaceful surroundings and so picturesque. Breakfast was a banquet and our meals at the villa were delicious. A great experience. We highly recommend this villa. It's more than just a bed!

Verified reviewFirst of all, Paola, the hostess, was super kind to us. Tended to all our needs, helped us with recommendations, reservations, and generally made our us feel welcomed. Above all, English is her mother's toung which is super helpful and uncommon in Italy. Besides that, the villa is amazing, well kept and clean. It has all the amenities you need.
Out bathroom was a little off.. Water kept leaking from the shower, the toilet would only flash after multiple tries.
Ciao Tal!!! Hope you are all doing well. Thank you for the wonderful review. We are planning to install new walk in showers this fall while still maintaining the character of the villa (it dates 13th century). A public service announcement for anyone coming to visit, press & hold the flush button for at least 4 seconds and there should not be an issue :) Wishing you all the best and hope to see you again. Sincerely, Paola

Verified reviewBeautyful stay! Marvellous and authentic historic premises with excellent renovation and every contemporary convenience one could think of. The wonderful Toscanese landscapes that frame your hours by pool or short walks under backyard's ancient cypress trees not to mention the breakfast table talks. But that's just the top layer. The warmhearted people that fill the place with considerate service and loving atmosphere are the real gem, that make you want to prolong your stay to enjoy that feeling of welcomedness and being cared for even more. And the kitchen! Someting to make each of our taste buds flicker from joy! I am better not going to try to describe the barbeque evening and wines. Only one small thing: after tasting many of the Italy's real tiramisus, their masterpiece just left us speachless... Haven't had anything like this until. Long story short. We really loved our stay there and the simultaneous feeling of being in an expensive resort while visiting home of dear friends.
Would have loved to walk around longer routes there, but that seemed only possible on paved roads with occasional speeding cars (well, Italy). Some promising field paths to olive groves were blocked by xenophobic signs (though there is still one especial view accessible nearby on the other slope of the same hill). Perhaps some agreement with neighbouring landlords could change that for the guests of the villa?
Buonagiorno Tauno, Thank you for your review which reads like a beautiful chapter in a book that you do not want to put down. We are thrilled that you had a wonderful experience here at the villa and with us. We consider guests like yourselves family. There are a few hiking trails not far from here that take you through vineyards and caves that date back to WW2. Speeding cars!!! I have a plan to try to put a stop to that. I will keep you updated on how far my efforts go. Wishing you a wonderful afternoon, Paola

Verified reviewVilla La Cappella embodies magic, comfort, peace and happiness. The grounds are beyond gorgeous, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food is unbelievable - Chef Giovanna takes everything to another level and cooks with love. The location is brilliant to visit things in the Region such as Florence, Pisa and Siena. This was the hardest place to leave and we already miss it very much. It was an experience that we will never forget and we’ve left a little piece of our heart there.

Zero to dislike really. If I had one complaint it’s that drivers go way too fast outside the gates, but that isn’t the fault of ownership.
