Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe elder man who works by the pool was very rude. He would shout at us when we went down to the pool. The pool opens at 9am and we would always wait until after to go down, but he continued to get angry even though we were doing nothing wrong.
We loved our stay here. The location is great, rooms are clean, food is delicious and most of the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

United KingdomThe only reason I didn't score a 10 was for the rude older guy with the glasses who would sometimes be on pool duties and sometimes maintenance. He was rude an aggressive. One one day he shouted at my daughter for getting water from the gym and on another we heard him arguing with one of the other pool attendants. Not the vibe you want in an otherwise outstanding hotel.
The hotel is in a stunning location on a very quiet outcrop of rocks and within a short walk of Alghero which is a lovely place to stroll around and eat in the evenings. The gardens lovely and quiet as is the pool area. No jostling for space and loungers as there is somewhere to go for everyone. Also a jetty with a ladder down into the gorgeous blue sea. Views are stunning and the hotel feels elegant and very private. Breakfast is excellent and served to you at the table. We would definitely come back here again.

AustraliaThe beds. The mattress was too hard and the pillows had no life. I think investing in better bedding, pillows would add to the comforts of your hotel. Good mattresses are essential. The shower over the bath maybe issues for people who aren’t so mobile but was fine for us as we are young.
Such a unique hotel. The history and location is very special. Our view was breathtaking. We really enjoyed the huge grounds, the space providing privacy with quiet and calm environment. The pool facilities were fantastic.

Tranquil, 1st class service and attention to detail. Beautiful sea view, so relaxing even though the weather was pretty dramatic! The resident barman and service man Giuseppe is a wonderful character and a valuable asset to the hotel. Dinner was relaxing and a sensible price, the hotel is nice and cosy despite having the grandeur of a castle! Magical day to celebrate a birthday, thanks so much Las Tronas!

HungaryAt brekfast you have to write down on a piece of paper what you want to eat. Unfortunately, something was left behind here, the toast was brought later, or we ran out of butter. That s why I didnt like the breakfast, I prefer the buffet.
The accommodation and its surroundings were fantastic, with a wonderful garden and plants. We received welcome champagne. The staff is very nice.

IrelandOverall relatively little but there was a €50 charge on use of the indoor swimming pool and spa areas which seemed excessive given the room charges are relatively expensive. I noted that the hotel website offered some deals including this for free but I do not think hotel of this chair should be charging for this. There is obviously no problem paying for treatments and other services. The other issue which I felt would be easy to fix is that coffee available in the room was powdered only. Again in a five-star resort I think an appropriate coffee machine is expected. The other small gripe I had was the absence of water provided in the bedroom other than through the minibar which was subject to a charge. There was no water distributed at the pool for example.
Overall the staff were outstanding. Very friendly and professional. Despite being quite a small hotel was always staff on hand. The housekeeping was extraordinary. Full service to room twice daily including full change of towels et cetera. Location is on the sea with options to swim in the sea at several occasions on the property. Nice seawater pool with ample number of recliners. We ate in the hotel restaurant and 2 nights and on both occasions the food was excellent albeit relatively modest choice but always additional fresh fish.

United KingdomThe rooms are good but you may expect bigger and more luxurious for a 5 star hotel. Again, nothing wrong with them but given it is an old building, the rooms are a predetermined size. The food was good but I think you can probably get better food at some of the restaurants local to the town of Alghero.
The location of the hotel is amazing. You are in a central location to the small town so you can walk to nearby restaurants etc. The hotel and the services are very good value. The hotel is on the shore of the sea which is an amazing location where you can swim in the sea and snorkel. In addition, the outdoor pool, sun lounging area is onlooking the sea which is all probably the best thing about the hotel. The dining areas inside the hotel and outside are all looking out at the sea so the views are amazing, especially sunset.

United StatesHonestly, I did not like the way booking.com treated me after after emailing them regarding that I needed a ride from the Airport to THE hotel. They totally ignored it and after calling them, they promised me a taxi would meet me and no one did.... Right now I do not have the highest opinion of booking.com.
The hotel staff was incredible. The location was fantasthe food was absolutely delicious and the spa was delightful.
