Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandA beach front casual place for a relaxing stay. Nice pool set in an oasis garden with shady trees and room for everyone Our room was tastefully decorated with a useful shaded deck, outdoor cafe table and chairs. The breakfast was very good with either indoor seating or optional outside with a nice outlook from the deck. If wanting an inexpensive beach visit Villa Mediterranea is very good Parking usually on site and not a hassle!

RomaniaThere aren't shops in the area, just one small market and 4-5 restaurants. You can take the bus to Noto if you want to buy pretty things from pretty stores. Renting a car solves any issue in this regard though. Lido di Noto is perfect if you want privacy and peace.
The staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are cleaned every day and the breakfast is great and satiating, rooms are comfortable. The hotel's garden is exotic and spectacular! People here are warm and they help solve your every problem. The beautiful public beach is just across the street and the sea is amazing. Nightlife is quiet, during the day it's intense and full of joy. It's a safe area. Perfect sejour and we wish to come back!

Great location a stones throw away from the beach . Very tranquil surroundings with amazing trees and fauna . Comfy bed with good AC for the soaring temperatures in July !

SwedenThe restaurants at walking distance were not that good. We tried 2 or 3 of them and they were about a 2/5.. if you have a car, go to the other villages close by to have dinner.
Very nice, relaxing garden area with sunbeds and a pool. Possibility to bring some lunch to eat by the pool. Really nice beach just across the road. Free parking available. Good breakfast!

NetherlandsAlthough the overall experience was good, the sound insulation was very poor. We could clearly hear the neighbors — even their conversations and TV sounds came through the walls. Noise from the hallway was also easily heard inside the room.
Overall, the stay was quite pleasant. The breakfast was simple, but it had everything we needed. The location was excellent — just a short walk straight to the beach, and 15 mins drive to Noto center. There was also a private swimming pool. Although it wasn't very big, it was beautifully designed. The entire environment was clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing.

GeorgiaIt is not directly related to the hotel but if you visit during off-season, be aware that there are only a few cafes and restaurants open for lunch and dinner. In May we only found 3 places and only one of them was ok. So you will need a car.
We stayed at the hotel in May for 6 nights. Staff is super friendly. The location is good, in front of the lido di Noto which is a very nice beach. However if you want to visit the nearby cities you will need a car or taxi. We were told that buses from lido di Noto to Noto city are scheduled from end of June to September. Breakfast was also good but same every day.

United KingdomWiFi is available only around the reception area, not from the room, breakfast area, or in the garden (only in some parts of the garden).
Everything. The staff members were lovely. Breakfast was delicious, with local fresh products. The room was comfortable, silent and with good window blinders, so you can sleep until late if you want. The garden was peaceful, with shades, trees, and a swimming pool. Three minutes walking from the hotel, you can get to a great beach, with very calm water to relax and swimm.

New ZealandStaff were very pleasant and exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was excellent and served either outdoors on the terrace with a lovely garden view or inside in a pretty air conditioned room. The location directly opposite a sandy beach with beach cafes was very good. The pool was another option and set in a lovely garden with plenty of shade. Plenty of free parking.

ItalyThe facility has been designed specifically for high season (like Swimming Pool and sun beds and a nice garden) However a stay during off season can be quite challenging. No lobby, no coffee or drinks if you need to stay inside during a rainy day.
Free parking, close to the beach, Leonardo at the reception was very friendly and helpful for sightseeing and restaurant tips. Gluten-free bread for breakfast.

United KingdomWe had a lovely room with a balcony, a view of the garden and distant views of the sea. The hotel was very quiet and had a great plunge pool in which to cool off after a hot day's sightseeing. The sandy beach was only across a road at the end of the garden. Breakfast was a buffet of savoury and sweet items, including cereal, fruit, bread, cheese and ham. We went out for dinner to one of three nearby restaurants which were reasonably priced but there was an option to go into Noto on a shuttle bus.

New Zealandthe staff are amazing, I’d had my passport stolen while we were travelling a couple weeks before and got my replacement sent to the property, they kept it safe for me until we arrived. My partner and I were also on our honeymoon and the staff added flowers to our room which was incredibly sweet.

United KingdomGenerally we thought that the Val de Noto area was quite expensive compared to our recent travels on this holiday. 3 nights at the Hotel Villa Mediterranea was almost the same price as 4 nights at our previous hotel in Castellammare del Golfo, which had more and better amenities, but I suspect it’s related to supply and demand. The breakfast experience could be improved with perhaps a little hot food and standard buffet procedures, not having to often ask for various items.
Stayed 3 nights at this well situated B&B Apartment which was clean and provided abundant toiletries. Close to public beaches and a number of private lidos, with a choice of a few restaurants close by. Noto city is a short drive away and well worth visiting. Parking is available either in the small hotel car park or the street nearby. The staff were friendly and attentive and the garden is a very pleasant place to while away a few hours (in the shade!)

MaltaThe property allows you to rent sunbeds to take yourself to the public beach across the road but charges you €3 each sunbed. Same for the beach/pool towel, it is charged €4 and if you need to change it you need to pay again. Breakfast is not buffet self service, so you need to ask for everything you want and wait behind other guests to be served.
Bed very comfortable and room simple but nice.

LithuaniaBreakfast was very poor, only limited amount of cold snacks, very poor quality of coffee. Room had no natural airflow, therefore it had an old house smell. Staff was not cooperative regarding early snack or even cup of coffee. Not even a kettle in the room to make a tea of coffee for early departure. Very poor soundproofing, woke up few times during the night because of neighbours flushing toilet, slamming doors etc. In all fareness, i would not recommend this villa.
Location was not bad, very close to the public beach.
