Beautiful house. You get what you expect for a house that is basically built into a rock wall (like rain coming in when it was raining for two days straight)

Unsafe, Misrepresented, and Moldy – Not a True Vacation Villa –
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Three-Bedroom Villa
    • Stayed 3 nights

We booked this property with high expectations, but what we found was unsafe, unsanitary, and completely misrepresented in the listing. Cleanliness and Mold: The house was dirty on arrival and had visible black mold in multiple bathrooms. Water leaked from the upstairs bathroom into the downstairs one, worsening the mold problem. The children’s shower was unusable because of the extent of mold, and my kids developed bug bites during the stay. Safety Hazards: The spiral staircase to the bedrooms was poorly constructed, with welding visibly separating – an accident waiting to happen. The front entrance required a key from both sides, and all windows were barred with padlocks, leaving no safe emergency exit. Exposed wiring, rust, and deterioration throughout the house only added to the risk. False Advertising: This property is not a “villa.” It is essentially a carport with living space beneath it. The outdoor space shown in the listing photos was staged with furniture and towels, but in reality nothing was prepared. The master bedroom had no closet, just hangers behind a curtain. The master bathroom was so cramped that the toilet could not even be used comfortably. Comfort Issues: The upstairs bedrooms were extremely hot, even with the AC running constantly, as they sit directly under a flat parking roof. The master bathroom door was barely two feet wide and the ventilation was poor, leaving the space steamy and damp. Only one small towel was provided for two adults upon arrival, and the washer-dryer unit was broken, leaving us without laundry facilities. Accessibility: To reach the house, guests must descend steep stairs from the car park, then carry belongings up a narrow spiral staircase to the bedrooms. This makes it unsuitable for anyone with mobility challenges. Overall: This was the worst property we have ever booked. The conditions ruined our vacation and created constant stress for our family. Between the mold, the structural hazards, and the misleading

I loved Italy and Lake Como, but this property misrepresented everything about Italian hospitality and fairness. It felt more like a trap than a true villa experience. "So much for Lombardy hospitality—I hope Mayor Alessandro Rapinese would consider a one-night stay at this so-called 'villa.' That might give him a sense of whether this property truly represents the beauty and spirit of Lake Como."

Can't beat the lake front experience!

    • Three-Bedroom Villa

Busy Via Statale with no sidewalks or nearby shops detracted from our preference to take early morning walks (for coffee/etc.) No hangers or drawers in the bedrooms to place our clothing - very surprised by this. Would have preferred a dryer to go with the washer (in place of clothes racks for drying) Although the house was clean, more attention to detail would be recommended, along with a fresh coat of paint and general maintenance - house seemed a bit worn/weathered and in need of a little sprucing up.

Layout of the house and lake front location made this property worth a visit. Comfortable for our family of 5 adults, we enjoyed the property and the exposed rock face design. Memory foam mattresses and pillows were also nice additions. Parking spots! Neighborhood "duck clan & swan" visits every evening added to our entertainment!
