How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was great
Your description of facilities was incorrect. The reason I choose this location was because it had a hot tub for which I paid extra. The hotels answer to a hot-tub was a spa bath this is not a translation problem its a clear misuse of language. The staff offered no compensation for their hotels failure to address the problem. The hotel did have a hot-tub in the spa/wellness centre either which was still under construction and booking.com says these would be completed by 31st March 2025 Yes we were offered an alternative room which had a two seater spa bath but the room was smaller with a massive desk in the middle of it. Also the taps and controls in the bathroom were dated, unclean, visible mould in corner of bath, overall tatty and shower controls didn't work easily. The carpet leading away from room to dining area was worn out, stained and ripped desperately needed replacement. The safety deposit box was dated and unlike other hotels we stayed in on our vacation did not work properly and assistance was required to set controls and then open the box before departure

Verified reviewConveniently located.
Maybe it was off-season, but I was disappointed in the breakfast, and the fitness center and spa area were closed. On the night we arrived, there was no hot water. We told the desk, and they immediately took care of it. It was the boiler or something. That should have been ready before we checked in.

Verified reviewgreat location, clean room and very nice rooftop bar with a view
1) The beds (mattresses) were very old, lumpy, and very uncomfortable. 2) the shower was very small - a semi overwieght person would have a hard time getting in/out and showering 3) Wifi was very spotty (signal constantly going off) 4) we ordered a room service meal (for 2 separte rooms, 3 people) - they only had a ham and cheese sandwich which ended up being one slice of thin ham and one slice of thin cheese on based white toast (cold). They didn't provide the price or supply a receipt (like any normal hotel) and then learned at checkout that the total cost was Euro 50 - (Euro 10 per sandwich + Euro 10 per room for room service delivery, although we had two rooms next to each other. 5) Checkout employee was polite but was not empowered by management to solve the sandwich issue

Verified reviewThe hotel has a great potential in terms of infrastructure and location. Staff friendly and accommodating. Clean and well equipped rooms.
Needs refreshing: Bathroom faucets are rusted; water in the shower took 4 minutes to start to get warm; Fridge in the room noisy; cover plate missing on electrical socket; insonorisation awful; garage convenient but very small and hard to manoeuvre within. Breakfast: minimal standard. On 25/04 (national holiday), ricotta had gone bad, bread had also gone bad; cakes were likely a couple of days old; jam distributors were left covered with plastic film; no fresh juice.

Verified reviewThe Traiano is barely half a block from the city’s most renowned landmark from antiquity, the Arch of Trajan (after whom the hotel itself is named). The connection to the hotel annex is a bit complicated but ingenious, and the room was quite comfortable.
It would have been nice if the breakfast staff had kept the buffet table re-supplied with the food offerings that early-riser guests had enjoyed.

Verified reviewA nice welcome and shown to a room that seemed ideal. But......
.... the hotel was hosting a 40th Birthday Party. We were not told about this, or the proximity of the party venue to our room when checking in. We had a long journey and went to bed fairly early, but then were disturbed by music from the party: so loud that you could almost feel the room vibrating. We hoped that things would quieten down, but at 23:30 I got up, dressed, and complained to the duty receptionist. I was told that the music would finish at midnight, and bizarrely were offered a room change. Who wants to pack up their suitcases, move and unpack again at that time of night? A complaint to the manager next day elicited the same solution. Quite insensitive. They knew we would be affected by the noise but still put us in that room. The music did not stop until well after midnight, and, if anything, got louder. We hardly slept, and both felt unwell the next day. A very unpleasant last night of our holiday.

Verified reviewIt is a well-restored building, designed in an efficient but welcoming way. The staff are extremely pleasant and accommodating, making my short stay very comfortable. The facilities are well-equipped for a longer stay.
Nothing was wrong for my short stay.
