How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt’s very spacious, the host was very nice and the pool is amazing. Kitchen is very nice and has all the needed tools. Have to emphasize that the host is really really nice.
The shower was a bit tricky, it was getting hot and cold. The humidity smell at the entrance area was quite intense.

Verified reviewThe most stunning setting, and in our gorgeous apartment which had everything we needed for a three-night stay. The pool is beautiful, extremely tranquil - the perfect way to cool off in the hot Tuscan sun! The gardens are wonderfully maintained, and offered the perfect spot for reading in the early evening. For us, having laundry facilities was a huge bonus and being able to use the spacious bbq area was a great way to spend an evening. Easy walking to Bettolle town which, albeit small, has a lovely bar just up from Vignacce and a fantastic deli supermarket/enoteca in the centre - highly recommended! Anna was a sensational host, extremely friendly and welcoming.
Be prepared to bring mosquito spray! Absolutely nothing on the property, just the time of year and location means there are a lot, particularly in the evening. Would recommend bringing plug-ins for the room.

Verified reviewThe gardens are lovely and so well maintained. The accommodation was really clean, and the apartment was exactly as in the photos. Anna, the host was very friendly, showing us around all the property on arrival, checking you were OK when she saw you in the garden and had some great restaurant recommendations. There was also a good supply of body wash, soap, etc. And some supplies in the fridge for a first breakfast, which was a nice surprise. The pool area is great, a bit chilly in May, but I still had a swim, and once in, it was fine (but we are Canadians). When it's hot and sunny a while, it'll be fantastic. The room aircon worked well, and as our week was a bit chilly weather wise, the central heating also works really well, and we never felt cold.
The mattress wasn't that comfortable for our liking, too hard and a bit lumpy. It may be a personal thing, so it may be ok for you. You can hear the highway slightly in the garden, but not in the room. When in the first garden there is some machinery noise from a building next door, it's background noise but it's there. Just so you know.

Verified reviewAmazing hosts - Anna was spectacular and catered to every request. It was a lovely, spacious and homely resort. It had all the facilities that a family would require. Super central to all the major Tuscan towns. Great pool, BBQ facilities and a lovely grassed, contained courtyard (especially with roaming children) to spend the evenings were stand outs.

IT WAS A PLEASURE FOR ME to meet you and spend a nice week together in the countryside. Always smiling and kind, you were very welcome guests. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. With love, Anna Licia

Verified reviewWe loved our apartment—spacious, beautifully furnished with lovely antique pieces, and equipped with everything you might need. The gardens are stunning, and the pool is large and inviting. Everything is very well maintained. Laundry facilities are available, and the property is dog-friendly. Anna is a warm and wonderful hostess who always checked in on us, ensuring we had everything we needed. She also provided excellent tips on where to eat and what to visit, making our stay even more enjoyable.
Although the accommodation is on the pricier side, it offers a comfortable and enjoyable stay that we would love to return to. The wifi could use some improvement, as the connection varied in reliability depending on your location within the property.

Verified reviewAnna , the owner and hostess, was fluent in English and French and shared her warmth and enthusiasm in her suggestions on her how to enjoy the gorgeous house , extensive and tasteful gardens and swimming pool to the full. She provided the names of several good and excellent restaurants in the small town. The Leopold Hotel , 50 metres from Villa Vignacce, has lovely food at an affordable price, with a spacious terrace and indoor restaurant ( Walter's ). My small flat had a good sized room with double bed and tasteful antique furniture and a lovely 2 metre model of an old sailing boat. The tasteful shower room and modern gallery kitchen, with lovely stainless steel fitting make it a highly tasteful and functional flat for 1 or 2 people. Outside the kitchen, is a set of table and chairs on a grassed area, for eating in lovely surroundings in summer. I cycled in the area and was very grateful to use the property 's washing machine and clothes drying rack. There was a background rumble of the motorway less than 1 mile away, which couldn't be heard from walled garden, next to the main red- brick traditional house. Lovely place to enjoy a relaxing drink in the day or evening, with groups of tables, chairs, sofas and parasols. . A lovely outdoor swimming pool about 15m-20m long, with plenty of lounge chairs in a relaxed environment and gardens.
A lovely venue, greatly recommended with plenty of interesting , rolling countryside for cycling, hiking, relaxing and wine tasting. The nearest train station was at Sinelunga, about 5 km away.

Verified reviewStaying at the Villa is experiencing a little bit of paradise! We loved our space...so spacious; lovely antique furniture. The gardens are breathtaking and so relaxing. The views are indescribable. We stayed here after being in Venice and Florence and we needed relax time before going to Rome. It is a great location and easy to get anywhere. Ana is a warm, wonderful hostess who always checked on us and made sure we were not lacking anything. Staying here made our Tuscan adventure!
We found out that there was no breakfast included - we didnt realise that when booking. Ana explained the Italian rules regardong breakfast when she rents places with a kitchen so this is not a criticism. She went all out providing breakfast items in the kitchen and we explored the small grocery store in town which added to a new experience. I just missed having a great cup of cappuccino in the mornings. I just couldnt get a great one from the coffee machine
Dear Maria, thank you so much for choosing to stay at Vignacce and for your very wonderful feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words. However, we are truly sorry that we couldn't serve breakfast during your stay and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused.Next time you visit, we'll make sure to have a delicious cappuccino to start your day!!!!! My best regards, Anna Licia

Kitchen was fully equipped, which was convenient to prepare all our meals. Bedrooms were spacious and had beautiful view over the gardens. We could chill out in the gardens or by the pool.

Verified reviewEverything was wonderful ! The grounds and room accommodations were perfect. Was greeted by the groundskeeper, Rodion, which was very friendly and helpful. Then later we met with the owner, Anna, which was also a great pleasure to speak to. We ended up extending our stay, wish we had more time to relax longer. I had just proposed to my newly fiancé one week prior down south in Capri. Non stop traveling so we extended a night and just spent a day indoors. Went to the local market and had a great relaxing day doing laundry, cooking, taking pictures of the grounds and planning the rest of our trip. The other days we travelled to nearby Montepulciano, Siena, many wineries, Thermal Baths at San Filippo and Cortona. Very central and great location for short drives. Extremely romantic!!!
Everything was great. Nothing to complain about

Verified reviewBeautiful villa with lots of character. The apartment was immaculate and well appointed. The garden was lovely and a great place to relax with a glass of wine and a good book. Bettolle is perfectly situated in Tuscany for day trips to all the surrounding areas. Annalicia was gracious host and recommended great restaurants in town.
