    What I really didn’t like about Wave Island was the lack of any staff or reception on site. I didn’t know everything was self check-in only, so I hadn’t done the online check-in beforehand. When I arrived, I couldn’t even enter the parking garage and I had to wait outside in the sun for two hours. Partly my own fault, but the owner should clearly communicate that there is no reception so guests can prepare. I had also booked an apartment with a pool view but ended up getting a view of the parking lot instead. The owner did come personally and promised to move me to a different apartment in two days, but after that I never heard anything back. In the bathroom, after one person showered, the entire floor was flooded and the water stayed everywhere — and six more people still had to shower. The sink also clogged. I texted the owner and they said someone would fix it the next day, but nobody came until after I checked out. Another very important thing: the location itself is nice, but there really isn’t much to do in the area — especially for people who like going out or having activities around. If you want to go to the beach (which honestly wasn’t even a beautiful beach), you have to pay €25 for a sunbed without even an umbrella. I was told that if I had a pass from the accommodation I wouldn’t have to pay, but apparently that wasn’t included in my booking. The owner promised to give me one anyway, but he never did. The pool water was very cold and there were no umbrellas allowed around the pool, which I really didn’t understand. In the end I had to cancel the rest of my stay because it was honestly very disappointing, and I moved to a different accommodation.

    I was honestly impressed. The apartment was spotless and had everything I needed, the owner literally thought of everything what you could need. The design and comfort were perfect. The whole property was extremely clean, the pool water was checked several times a day, and the staff were constantly cleaning around the pool and apartments. I didn’t even see a single insect. In short: a super clean and well-maintained stay.
