How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClose to the sea. The stuff was nice, we were able to leave our luggage before check in on reception.
The beach sunbeds are for additional fee, no mentioned on the site. The sea is near really dirty and the beach not nice, so no reason to pay for that.

Verified reviewThe reception staff and breakfast host were pleasant, helpful and accomodating. The building and rooms were clean and comfortable
I booked a superior double which we discovered was essentially a double room with an extra bed in it. The double bed was reasonably comfortable but the single (according to my sister) was lumpy with a line of springs down the middle. When we arrived, our room was set up for only two guests. Only two bedside tables, 2 sets of towels, 2 mugs, tea/coffee for two people and only 8 coathangers in the wardrobe for 3 ladies! The receptionist kindly located one extra coat hanger giving us 3 each at least and provided an extra mug and towels for the room. She was very kind and helpful throughout our stay and without her assistance I think my overall rating would be lower. I question the distance given on the website re distance to the beach etc. Perhaps it was 'as the crow flies', because it was certainly further than indicated, and only Bradley Wiggins could have cycled the distance in the 9 minutes time frame suggested! There is also no airport shuttle offered by the hotel (despite a suggestion that there is), other than the municipal bus service that picks up and drops off at selected locations at fixed times of the day which has to be booked in advance to guarantee a place. We ended up booking a taxi in advance, to and from the airport at a cost of £93 each way. This option worked out cheaper that using the municipal transport and at least it was door to door. Villasimius itself is a pleasant location if you are interested in boat trips, snorkeling or diving. (The general bus service to vilasimius I'm told is unreliable and we didn't see a single bus during our entire weeks stay.) Outside of that there is little else to do and the only excursion booking office on the main strip offers just these activities. There were plenty of shops to explore and good restaurants to suit all tastes but knowing what I know now, I would not have chosen to stay in vilasimius for a weeks vacation.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was great, the staff were mostly helpful
They first gave us a room at 7pm with a broken air-con saying someone might be around to fix it. We asked if there was another room, she said “no”. I then said that if the engineer doesn’t come will they give us another room.? It was 35C.. Eventually she “found” another empty room that we could stay in. So we moved. So… a sketchy start but it ended okay. The rooms were quite small but clean. We even had a little outdoor area.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is really good. The town center is walking distance, and right next to it there is a grocery store. There was always parking place right in front of the hotel. My room was spacious, clean and I truly loved the garden that the bedroom door opened to. Wow, the beautiful scent of those tiny white flowers! Staff is very kind, one of the ladies at reception was super-helpful, she even helped me to find a great hairdresser in town. I also appreciate that they take being environment-friendly seriously.
The door between the corridor where the bedroom doors open from, and the lobby is horribly loud. Fortunately my room was at the very end of the corridor, but I still could hear it open and close every time someone walked through. The bed was way too soft to my liking, but I guess that is individual.

Verified reviewGreat location for exploring the beaches and just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Villasimius. Safe, free parking right next to the hotel and a handy supermarket on the same street too. Outstanding choice at breakfast which took us by surprise, really good value.
