Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe luggage storage didn’t have a lock.
I liked that the room has luggage storage inside the dorms. It made it convenient to store my large luggage. They have an elevator that was super nice. The bathrooms and bedrooms are cleaned very often so that was good.

United KingdomThe place was quite old and could do with some updating. It also didn’t have much of a hostel vibe which is okay but lacking.

FranceNice and well-located hostel, just a short walk from the main train station. The staff were friendly and helpful—they kindly kept my bag after checkout at no extra charge, which was a huge help as my train was two hours later. A simple gesture that made my day much easier!

IsraelThere's no room key - the only key you get is the key to the entire place. So pretty much anyone that is staying there can access your room, which isn't the most comforting.
To be fully honest - this isn't the dream place, but, it's located near a major street, is clean enough, isn't very big and they make your bed and clean the room everyday, which is pretty nice. The rooms are quite big, so there's space for opening a suitcase or even 3-4. The showers are nice even though a little bit old. It's like staying at someone's house rather a hotel.

United StatesThe common area (kitchen) facilities - with the exception of the couch - are a bit beat-up. I got a stuffy nose while sitting next to the HVAC(?) unit by the window, indicative of mold. Don't sit at that seat and you should be fine. Some other reviews complain about a smell in the kitchen - it smelled like curry to me, so just be fine with that. In all though, this is minor - you're a budget traveler in Rome: you aren't here for the kitchen, you're here for the Eternal City!
This is a solid place for a budget traveler in Rome for a few days. Location for the price is gold - 11-minute walk from Termini train station and metro, in a pleasant neighborhood near the Piazza della Finanze and Michelangelo's Porta Pia; Villa Borghese and Spanish Steps within 20-minute walks each. There are some good restaurants in this area - the Asmara Eritrean restaurant stands out. Professional, efficient, no-nonsense staff, responsive and amenable to requests. Towels included in price of the room! The beds are made immaculately each day between 10:30 and 1:00 PM. The bunk bed I stayed in in a room at the back was comfortable. Hot water plentiful in the shower. If you buy simple breakfast stuff (yogurt, juice, fruit) from a local supermarket and ortofrutta like I did, there is a fridge to keep them in. Instant coffee and tea and a water boiler are provided by the hostel.

Australiait was a little bit further than 700 meters from the Bus and Train Station, you also need to make sure your maps are right up to date when looking for the place.
It was a nice place to stay, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, there is lots of transport nearby.

FranceThey made me pay 5€ to keep my baggage after check out, which is something I can even understand if they have to take care of it and keep it safe. However, what I find really annoying is that after paying those 5 euro THEY KEPT MY BAGGAGE IN AN UNLOCKED LOCKER INSIDE A RANDOM ROOM, meaning that literally anybody in that room could have stolen my things, and among them I had my laptop... It was really upsetting to see my things were left in a room where people were sleeping without being locked, just at the sight of everyone...
The locker I had was pretty big, which was very nice, but you have to BRING YOUR OWN PADLOCK, which is not that nice. Other lockers were a bit smaller but still big enough to fit a big suitcase.

Poland- Strange rules: the kitchen opens at 1pm only, between 11am and 1pm you have to be out of the hostel because of cleaning. I think it's the first time I encounter this in 30 or so hostels I stayed. - Staff sleeping in the kitchen until late morning is pretty awkward. Could be arranged so much better by turning a single bed in one of the dorms into a bunk and having him sleep there - better for everybody. - Wifi is fast, but in the room it keeps disconnecting.
Overall a really nice place, very clean and cozy, the staff is friendly, other travellers too. Could be a 10/10 from me easily, but there's a couple of quirks.

NetherlandsIt was a bit cold inside the rooms, as the heating was not working properly. But they provided us with a light electric heater. The shower was a bit small, but quite clean and full of different kinds of shampoos.
I was amazed when I saw that it had very good shower, toilet and kitchen. It is very value for money. But, if you are a backpacker and want to just sleep, it is the best that you can find imo.

SpainThe sheets smelled horrible. You don't feel confortable. The poor staff guy is the only one in charge and sleeps everyday in the kitchen sofa. The kitchen can only be used from 13-22h.
It is good for the price comparing to other bookings. It's less than 10 minutes away from Termini. The bathrooms and bedroom are cleaned everyday.

United KingdomThe wifi was poor. The page claims they serve breakfast, but they do not. The strict kitchen hours make no sense. Even if you want to make your own breakfast, you cannot. If you enjoy eating in the morning, then you'll have to do it somewhere else.
The showers were hot with solid pressure. There were several bathrooms available. The location was perfect for me. The staff were friendly.
