How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No towel, no TV. The lady who collected the money was nice but I won’t even say much about the gentleman. The airport is just out front. Plane constantly flying gets annoying. One night stay is all I would stay.

Verified reviewWe only stayed a night for transfer, but this night was one of the best experiences in our entire trip. This place is a hidden gem, a quiet retreat with exclusive access to an almost private beach, panoramic views and natural peace. Tips: 1. The place is hard to find on your own, read Ron and Bev's messages before you try on your own (like we did). 2. Ron and Bev are amazingly helpful and kind, they will double the joy of your stay. Don't hesitate to ask. 3. Yes, airport is close, but the occasional passing plane is no disturbance. Night was full of nature sounds. 4. We met quite a few locals during our short stay, and all of them were genuinely friendly and helping us to get around. 5. Try the closeby SNAPPAZ restaurant!
AC would be an improvement, but we had a huge second fan in the room that did the job. Jamaica is warm, very warm, no kidding...

Verified reviewMy spouse and I chose Jamrock Secret Retreat for our honeymoon, and it exceeded all expectations. This hidden gem offers a truly authentic Jamaican experience with modern comforts in a breathtaking setting. Property & Location: The retreat's private beach access is simply magical. The clear blue waters and secluded setting create a perfect romantic atmosphere that's ideal for couples. The property itself is immaculately maintained and designed with a beautiful tropical aesthetic that captures Jamaica's natural beauty. Our room was spotlessly clean and recently renovated, featuring charming tropical decor that enhanced the island experience. The attention to detail was impressive, and the room had everything we needed. There are drinks available in the mini-fridge (for an additional charge), which was a convenient touch. Staff & Service: The staff truly made our stay special. Ms. Bev, who manages the property, is an absolute treasure - warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. We formed a wonderful connection with her during our stay. She also offers additional items you might need during your visit, which proved very convenient. Steve deserves special mention as well. He was our guide throughout Jamaica - arranging transportation from the airport, taking us shopping, and even to Ocho Rios. His knowledge about Jamaican culture and history turned our transfers into fascinating tours. Both Ms. Bev and Steve represent the incredible hospitality that makes Jamaica special. We loved it so much we extended our stay! The connections we formed with staff and locals were unexpected highlights, and we're already planning our return. Tips for Future Guests: - Bring cash for check-in - Budget for transportation (Steve is highly recommended!) - Consider extending your stay!
The only small issue worth noting is that towels aren't automatically provided with the room. You'll need to purchase them from Ms. Bev for an additional cost. This appears to be a "post-COVID policy" to maintain enhanced hygiene standards. However, this wasn't really a problem for us, as the Jamaican towels make for wonderful souvenirs to take home! The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which wasn’t very strong. I had some trouble connecting and experienced issues when trying to send important emails or watch movies at night.

Finding it !! No signage on building , no directions on road and there were 2 properties with the same address separated by an airport in Montego Bay!!! Our GPS POINTED US TO THE OTHER ONE. Our local cab driver was confused and we almost gave up on finding it. And the transportation to the airport advertised was a cab fare we paid for!

Verified reviewIt is very clean and Bev is a great host. Nice location walking distance to a beach and places to eat. The owner is nice and has lovely gardens around the house. Was not bothered by the planes but you hear them on occasion but much less than anticipated.
The internet was kind of hit or miss. The rooms are nice and very clean but no bathroom door just a curtain and glass door with a curtain that goes into room (upstairs downstairs seem more private from what I could see) it is very nice but I would have preferred a solid door for privacy going into the room and for the bathroom.

Verified reviewJamrock is less than 9 mins drive from airport but sounds of planes rarely disturb the tranquility of JamRock. So peaceful and quiet with a beautiful sea view and only sounds heard are the waves outside bedroom window. Wake up in the night and even the insects have gone to sleep. The facilities were good. I had the lounge, sun terrace and kitchenette to myself. Clean room , fast internet and very comfy bed. My host Bev was so friendly and made me feel at home. She was informative on local places to eat. Snappaz , lovely fish restaurant which is about 8 minutes walk from Jamrock. Food is lovely and staff very friendly. If you want to stop over after landing and need to freshen up before moving on to your next destination , Jamrock is a place that I would recommend and one that I will be coming back to.
Remember to bring your toiletries and towel . Also plus tea, coffee and sugar and there is no microwave .Other than that everything else was perfect.

Was tricky to find due to my own mistake of not reading the directions thoroughly but when I called the contact number for help a male answered who was quiet abrupt, told me I should have read everything properly and stated that seens as I hadnt read properly I wouldn’t no that they didn’t have air con…which wasn’t a bother too me as they have a large fan but his mannerisms may put some costumers off.
