How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe variety of food items was very good. The whole atmosphere of the dining room was great. The food was very scrumptious too. The servers were quite friendly and I loved the staff singing happy birthday to guests. The spa experience was amazing. The baristas were very knowledgeable and patient with us 🙂. The checking in and out process was very smooth also.
The long wait at the elevators. Had to take the stairs some of the times

Water park - children and I enjoyed it 6. Coffee and pastry bar in the lobby 7. Beautiful beach, clear water, palm shaded, plenty of beach chairs. Relaxation 8. Pepe’s jerk chicken and rice and peas adjacent to the beach 9. Reggae music playing everywhere
1. The lobby though very beautiful was often overcrowded. 2. Not enough elevators. Long wait and overcrowded . Reflective glass walls in elevators difficult to keep clean. 3. Swimming pool seem small and overcrowded 4. Nightly entertainment was average at best. 5.Sports bar menu too limited 6. Gift shop lack authentic Jamaican crafted items. Items are made in China. Can’t justify purchasing those things. Resorts should support the local Jamaican artists and craftsmen and sell their products in their gift shops. I am disappointed! 7. There are some rocks in the sea that should be removed to avoid injuries. 8. We won a room upgrade but what we received though nicer was not an upgrade. We had a partial ocean view originally and the room we were upgraded to was also a partial Ocean view. Should have been a family room. Disappointed! 9. No incentives offered by management that would entice a return visit.

Verified reviewStaff was very accommodating, friendly and attentive. Massage at the spa was phenomenal. Food at White Bay, the Sports Bar and Pepe's was delicious. Entertainers/dancers were awesome!
Requesting extra pillows that we never got and lighting in our hallway at night was inconsistent.

I did not like that they did not have anyone monitoring individuals coming from the beach to the pool. There are rinse stations for people to rinse the sand off, but the pool definitely had sand in the water. I did not like that there were free water sports offered, but not all were offered everyday during the available hours. I wish they had the ability to update the activities on the RIU app.

Verified reviewI appreciated the cleansiness of the hotel, I loved the entertainment (a lot of work and effort) and the meals were good, there was enough variety. Great idea with the pools and of the separation of the adult pools. The SLIDES big bonus. My sons enjoyed this to the max!!! Continue to work on customer service and empowering staff to problem solve.
Encourage staff to problem solve and just work from a script.

The “resort credits” you see when booking the hotel are a scam. I never received it and when I asked the hotel staff they basically laughed and said yeah… you could get a coupon book or something but they split it up so like tons of coupons for $10 off a $200 bottle of wine or something. They told me don’t even bother. This is weird because the hotel is great and such good value, why have this scammy resort credit thing

Verified reviewI loved the front desk staff Nicokye and the waiters also the house keeping staff. The entertainment was good as well.They all were very diligent and made the stay worth our while.
I shared a room with three persons. The person who shared the bed for two it was somewhat uncomfortable. There should be at least one queen size and a double bed when a triple occupancy reservation jas been made. Also the hotel should give little kits to guests for example a sewing kit, lotion to take away etc

Verified reviewRestaurants had lots of options to choose from. The workers were friendly. Place was clean and welcoming. Entertainment was great. I had a great time even though I was under the weather. I would definitely return.
Location was hard to find, no signage to indicate the entrance.

Verified reviewThe food was awesome. The staff was excellent. The view from my room was very breathtaking, even though it wasn't garden. Partial Ocean View, road and neighboring facilities.
The wifi in the room was very unstable, nothing to count on. Majority of the time there was none. The cleanliness of the room could be weigh better, especially the floor. Couldn't walk barefoot, had to have on a slipper or socks to keep our feet clean. The food for room service is nothing to count on at nights unless you decide to do pastry. That needs working on, let it be at least 75% of what you would experience at the boufet or restaurant.

Wasn't clean, found extensions in the comforter, in different areas of the room, the percolator was dirty, took us hours to get a replacement or have someone clean it, we requested warm water instead to make tea and our child's bottle and it tasted like coffee, the food at the buffet was not the greatest either.
