How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWadi Rum is unimaginably beautiful if you are a nature lover. It is 'The Monument Valley' of the east! And one of the most mystifying places on earth. And this camp only added to our out-of-this-world experience. We were extremely surprised by the hospitality of this camp. Aied is a great Bedouin tribesman and hosted us with wonderful hospitality. He organized our stay here with perfection, from pre-booking information sharing to receiving us at the camp and all the way through to the end. He was very responsive and accommodative to our questions and what we wanted. The tent was quite comfortable and had nice clean attached private bathroom with warm shower (hard to imagine such comfort in such a difficult terrain). It was clean and safe. Our tour guide Gait was the most wonderful Bedouin tribesman who showed us many beautiful spots in Wadi Rum. He spoke English very well and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, safe and adventurous. At the end of our desert tour, he prepared tea for us in the middle of the desert, in the traditional Bedouin style, while we sat on a sand dune and watched the sunset. All in all, we highly recommend Wadi Rum as a place to visit, this camp, the owner Aied and the guide Gait.
The short time we were here for...we would have loved to spend more time here! And so we decided to come back here in the future.

Verified reviewThe location was in Wadi Rum with good view of sunset. The food provided was great.
From the start, I felt unwelcome. I paid for a full-day tour, but my guide barely spoke. The only time he engaged was with the traveler in this tour, a white female leaving me to ask her to repeat any information shared about the sites we visited. In the afternoon, he vanished after saying he’d return after dropping her off in town to finish my tour. He didn’t return. Before booking, I asked specifically if WiFi would be available, as I had work to complete the following day. I was told it wouldn’t be an issue. What wasn’t made clear was that “WiFi access” meant being driven to the middle of nowhere and expected to work out of a car in the desert heat. When I explained that I’d need a proper place to work for a few hours and grab lunch, I was told it would cost an additional $10 to go into town. Frustrated, I agreed. Instead of a cafe or restaurant, he brought me to his house, laid a blanket on the floor. Uncomfortable but desperate to finish my work, I told him i will use his vanity instead. While I was working, he hovered over my shoulder and repeatedly asked me to leave a good review on Booking.com. I told him multiple times I would write my review after my stay. After finishing my work, I walked 20 minutes into town on my own, only to find a well-known restaurant with reliable WiFi. Had I been taken there in the first place, none of this would have been necessary. It became clear he was trying to steer me to spend more money at his camp instead. Despite knowing I was visibly upset, on my final day he tried to hand me $10 and said, “I won’t charge you for the ride to town, just leave me a good review.” I declined the money and walked away. I do not recommend this camp at all. My experience felt manipulative and unprofessional, and I now genuinely question whether many of the positive reviews here are incentivized or fabricated. After researching further, I found other nearby camps that offer more value, transparency, and hospitality for the same price—or less.
We’re very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few points: Before your arrival, we clearly communicated that WiFi was not available at the camp, as is common in the desert. You were informed that we could bring you to a spot with access. When you asked for a quieter and more comfortable place to work, we welcomed you into our family home, where you sat at a table with air-conditioning for several hours at no extra charge. We do not ask for or exchange money for reviews. We simply hope that guests who enjoy their stay feel inspired to share their experience honestly. Desert life and Bedouin hospitality are different from city tourism, and we do our best to share what we can with generosity and transparency. We’re sorry if this was misinterpreted. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

Verified reviewThe staff were super friendly, the room is equipped with everything you need (no towels or A/C, but this information can be found on booking). We (my parents and I) stayed in Aied's tent, it was extremely clean. The camp is comfortable and we were with other tourists which made it easy to have conversations with people from around the world

Verified reviewOur stay at Wadi Rum Travel Camp, was absolutely insane! We got picked up, drove to a cool place in the desert and ate delicious lunch, after that we headed on our adventure through Wadi Rum exploring the area around in the back of an pick up, went sandboarding and drank tea next to the fire at the sunset. When we got to camp, they prepared dinner for us, we all sat in circle next to fire, ate amazing food and chatted about life and how is it living in the desert. The fact they turned all the lights off so we can see the stars more clearly - just wow. Big thanks to our guide who made everything more enjoyable and to all the guys at camp for their hospitality! 11/10 expierience

Verified reviewThis tented camp offers a truly intimate experience, with only 4 tents in total. This guarantees a lot of tranquility and a cozy atmosphere, perfect for those seeking peace in the desert. Our tent was spacious and comfortable, and we found the bathroom spotlessly clean, an aspect we greatly appreciated. Dinner was excellent. We had the opportunity to try the traditional Bedouin cooking under the sand (chicken, rice, potatoes, and zucchini), which was absolutely exquisite. All the accompaniments were also very good: the typical Arabic bread, various sauces, fresh vegetables, baba ganoush. After dinner, the atmosphere around the fire was special: we played riddles and chatted about the life and traditions of the Bedouins. Breakfast was also very good, with a wide choice of sweet and savory options. During the day, we did a beautiful jeep tour of over 6 hours. Our Bedouin guide, Iusef, proved to be very knowledgeable and friendly, showing us the most evocative spots in the Wadi Rum desert. We stopped at several Bedouin tents to enjoy the traditional tea, we experienced the thrill of sandboarding (so much fun!), played beach volleyball with the Bedouins and other travelers (following their 'desert rules') and admired a spectacular sunset sitting on the sand. It was a complete, authentic experience, rich in interesting activities. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to fully experience Wadi Rum!

Verified reviewCamp was in the heart of the dessert, Aeid and the team are super accommodating and pick you up from town and take you to the camp. The desert tour was great value for money - our driver Yusef was super friendly and chill. Big shoutout to the chef at the camp for preparing an amazing meal. We actually slept outside under the starts than in our cabin and it was great fun. Spoke around to other camps and this was best value for money!

Verified reviewAbsolutely incredible stay. The location was stunning and stargazing was a particular highlight. It's a small camp so it felt really private and the whole team were super welcoming. Room was spotless and the dinner was so delicious (with lots of veggie options). Can't recommend it enough!

Verified reviewI wish I could give this accommodation a 12-star review. Aied and our guide Salem really made us fall in love with Wadi Rum. They were incredibly helpful and patient, and elevated our already great vacation to the next level. The comunication by Aied before arriving was already very clear and helpful. Salem gave us a great full-day tour through the desert, which I would recommend to everyone, teaching us about the Bedouin culture, showing us the best spots, providing lunch, sandboarding, and watching the sunset. We got dinner back at the camp, which was deliciously cooked in a traditional Bedouin fashion. The camp also had multiple games available. Aied also helped us arrange a hot air balloon tour, allowed us to rest a bit in his own house, and introduced us to Raiet (sorry if I got that name wrong), who was a local Bedouin that actually showed us even more about the Bedouin lifestyle outside of the touristic areas. The whole experience was incredibly educational, heartwarming and could not have been done without the help of Aied and the travel camp. All of this is without mentioning that the price of the stay and the activities were significantly low and fully worth it. To everyone who is contemplating about going to Wadi Rum, it will be one of the most unique experiences in your life, and if you are contemplating which accommodation to book, I highly recommend the travel camp!
There is nothing I could mention here, it was perfect!
