  • “We fell in love with Kakurinbo from the second we walked up the beautiful temple entrance and met all the kind staff. We stayed in the garden view room for the first night, and sitting on the balcony drinking green tea was like something out of a fairytale. The dinner served in small little colourful plates was some of the best food we have had in Japan. Our stay was so incredible: experiencing the Buddhist monk morning prayers at the temple on the hill, bathing in the baths, doing morning yoga, hiking and chatting to the staff, that we actually ended up extending for two more nights. We couldn't recommend this place more strongly. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Japan.”

  • “Amazing experience super kind staff, the 5am monk prayer is a must attend, delicious meal and great onsen. Loved every part of that experience”

  • “The food is excellent. They can accommodate many dietary requirements.”

  • “This is the best place you can stay not only in Japan, but also in the whole of Japan. And I say as a guide who brought numerous groups to Japan and lived here for years. Try it!”
