Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanA little more space in the "lobby" (study space." But cramped as it was, it was adequate. I appreciated the A/C (2 of them) and the USB ports plus in the capsule too.

AustraliaCheck in process. It was very confusing on how to check in, but fortunately, there is a person there to help you. The living quarters is shared so don't expect much privacy other than a curtain. The lockers to store your things aren't that wide and can barely fit in a large travel sized luggage (The typical ones you check in).
Located a few minutes walk from the station. Definitely a great place to stay for a night or a few hours. They also offer a sleeping monitoring service which monitors your sleeping for any patterns and reports back to you. A simple living arrangement, but a little pricey for what's essentially a hostel. Instead of bunk beds, you get built into the wall capsules. The one I got was relatively roomy in which you can sit up right without hitting your head. it also had a TV and came with ear plugs. Not that I used either, but still nice to have. It had power plug at the head of the bed and little area to put your things. Under your capsule had a small luggage storage area, but there are lockers as well you can use.

United StatesSometimes I felt the sleeping pod was a bit warm just before bed, but during the night the temperature was perfect. There is no way to change the temperature. Lockers were on the smaller side, and not being allowed inside mid-day was a tiny inconvenience.
The showers were very nice and very clean. The beds were comfortable and cleaned daily. Sleeping attire is provided and comfortable. New towels every single day. Luggage not allowed in pods is a huge plus since it prevents tracking anything into the sleeping area. Spacious sleeping pods with comfortable sheets.

United Arab EmiratesI didn’t experience any bad things. I only ask If the cleaning time would start at 12PM it would be better because everyone had to leave the hotel from 11 AM to 3 PM for cleaning purposes. Some time we may need to take more rest because of late night sleep.
I found it very clean and organized. The staff was very supportive and its just 3 minutes walk from Shinagawa station.

AustraliaThe entrance was hard to find, especially by night. The check in process was surprisingly complicated and finding how to get assistance from staff was not obvious.
More spacious than I thought, comfortable, clean, quiet, convenient and they offer pajamas, towel, soap, shampoo, toothbrush during the stay, with skated but individual showers and toilets. And well located.

AustraliaCheck-in is all automated but it wasn't super easy to navigate for our brains after a long-haul flight. There is someone on hand to help you through though. Be warned, alarms start going off about 5am, and the shuffling begins. Most people are pretty respectful though.
If you've stayed in a capsule hotel you'll know the drill. This one's super close to Shinagawa station, so good if you're pulling in late at night heading out to the west the next day. There's also a free breakfast voucher for Doutor Coffee if you check your check-in voucher, which we did after buying breakfast (but second breakfast was good). They also throw you a detailed sleep report.

DenmarkAir quality on capsules gets stuffy, people walking by your capsule can make a lot of sound and cameras in pods create a bit of an odd feeling. Also cameras out in changing areas add to a feel of being surveillanced.
New establishment, clean and well maintained, somewhat simple self-check-in even though for 2 people it was a bit cumbersome, but staff came to assist promptly. Wonderful location close to station so that is 10/10 for convenience. A great place to experience capsule hostel concept. Also possible to monitor your sleep quality.

AustraliaFirst time i Japan, did not know check in was 100% automated. Was nowt aware or given instructions of the check in process which would have helped. More room to open suitcase as space i locker was cramped for suitcase. I believe you can buzz someone at front to put luggage elsewhere , but do check in case luggage is large.
Location good as next to Shinagawa Station. Clean place , showers spacious and nice and place felt very modern and neat. Easy check in and check out. Capsule was spacious , I am a tall dude over 6ft, did not feel cramped at all.

GermanyThe air conditioning of the capsules could be better, and unlocking the personal storage was sometimes finicky.
Very conveniently situated, very clean interior, very kind staff. The shower quality was a pleasant surprise and the entire concept feels very thought-out, especially for short stays. I would definitely stop there again for a night or two.

GermanyAttention! 9h nine hours Shinagawa is a experimental hostel. It has cameras and sensors in every capsule that monitor your sleeping habits and stuff like your body temperature and use that data for scientific research. While I have zero problems with that and tbh love the idea, I think that it is not well communicated especially here on booking. I was quite suprised when I saw the big camera right over my head in my capsule. You can book with or without sleep-record (information after your stay about how you sleep etc.). If I knew that I would have booked with that report because that would´ve been interesting. So stay away from 9h nine hours Shinagawa if you are uncomfortable with that stuff.
The best part of 9h nine hours Shinagawa is the location. Its right next to shinagawa station so its especially optimal for your last days in tokyo before departing from Haneda Airport. The second best part is the shower/locker area. Its super clean, the showers are big and everything is modern. You have your own locker where you can put all your staff so its safe and you get all personal hotel ameneties that you need (like toothbrush). The check in is 100% easy and digital and you can do it in english.
