Location and views are amazing. Room was very nice and spacious well decorated with stunning Lake views.

Not vegetarian friendly. Almost no vegetarian options and even when food is marked as vegetarian it might contain seafood or chicken.

    Good baths. Very nice rooms.

Food was okay but it’s a buffet and inevitably that means not top quality. It was good but not special.

There are a lot of facilities and even a few stores inside the hotel. It’s right in the center of the village. The buffet is really good and diverse.

Unfortunately we didn’t had the view of the lake from the room. The parking lot is quite far from the hotel, which is quite inconvenient, we would have to take the shuttle bus to and from the hotel and parking lot. The outdoor onsen on top of the hotel (showed as a main attraction of the hotel in the photos) was prohibited, but it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.

Buffet breakfast and dinner were wonderful. a lot of variety of food but no urchin. fresh and delicious. It's grateful for the transfer our luggage from The Forest and upgraded us to the Lake view room.

Too crowdy onsite, no matter the Onsen or hotel or restaurant.

Private onsen in the room. Clean room and good service.

There was a smell from the mat (my guess) in the room.

It was very clean and the staff was exceptional. Everything is organised for the convenience of the guests.

The hotel is outdated, too big. We chose this very expensive hotel for the roof-top onsen which was closed because of moths (unfortunate). Another reason to stay there was the evening buffet that was appraised for the western dishes in other reviews (and we were traveling with a 10 year old child). The western food was fresh but only average and no real western dishes. The hotel is located ashore a beautiful lake but there is no real chance to enjoy the natural beauty from a terrace or panorama window (may be a cultural difference). We do not see the value for money.

Our room was amazing - big and comfortable and with a great view of the lake. Hotel facilities were awesome - amazing onsen and the sauna was so good. Food was delicious. Staff were great.

It would have been great for there to be a bar open for longer - the hours while we stayed were 8pm - midnight. You could get alcohol with dinner too. The gym would be much better if it had some weights.

Room is fine, Hotel has many Onsens, outdoor onsens has good view and a sauna. Male an female separate, they will alternate the male n female onsen at different time slot. Dinner spread is huge , but quality is just ok, to upgrade dinner need to book advance and it cost a lot extra.

This hotel is huge, tourist come is buses, everything is about money in this hotel, the only free thing is steam potato in the afternoon, I am not sure this is the practice of Akan area hotel, my experience with onsen hotel in other area is much better, not as commercial.

Unfortunately it was not clear that this is not a tattoo friendly onsen. We could not enter it after paying a lot of money to stay in the hotel. We were happy to use the fitness instead however you need to pay a supplement of you want to use it. A lot of variation on the Food buffet but not as qualitative as you would expect. Disappointed

Lake Akan is beautiful and this property benefits from being lake side with gorgeous art displays inside and in the garden. The food buffets were incredible. I wasn’t able to use the onsen and it looked spectacular. I love hiking and nature and they have an adventure centre through which guided walks can be booked. We hired bikes from the sightseeing boat centre and this is highly recommended. Bikes can be hired from the hotel but not when we were there.

Room was adequate - small, no view, tiny shower and bath. Futon bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The hotel seemed set up for bus loads of tourists. The food selection in the restaurant was abundant, the quality average, the experience terrible.
