How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExcellent location, comfortable, the performance of the geishas was impressive, I liked the option of breakfast at the second hotel, it's a good variety. The lounge was also very nice, although it was the same every day.
No onsen

Verified reviewThe air conditioning was so welcome on the super hot days of August. The view from the lounge is beautiful of the temple and tower, and the sweet treats were delicious.

Verified reviewLocation, lounge bar on the 10th floor.
Breakfasts were disappointing. The main dish is ordered from a menu with only 6 options, and the appetizers are buffet-style, but the selection is very limited. I have often stayed at hotels near Haneda Airport, and the breakfasts there are much better. Unfortunately, the level here is nowhere near the same. Cleanliness was also an issue. Upon check-in, we found long black hairs on the bed, sheets, and towels. I showed this to a staff member, who offered to change our room — but in the new room we also found hairs. This was very surprising and disappointing, as I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness in Japan

Verified reviewGreat location! Every kind of shop you might need is just a stone's throw away, and many attractions are within walking distance. Bus and metro stations are no more than a ten-minute walk. The room was big enough for the two of us, even with three large suitcases. It was clean with big, comfy beds, a mini-bar, and a spacious bathroom. Last but not least, the staff was extremely polite and willing to help with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone!
The only downside — and it wasn't a big issue — was the fact that we couldn't open the window. I think this is true for most hotels in Japan. Fortunately, it wasn't frosted (which is another common thing in Japanese hotels) and had a nice view of the neighboring buildings.

Verified reviewThe hotel is very well allocated in the heart of Asakusa. We were 4 and the room was a good size . The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean and silent. We had a nice view to the sky tree building , the last floor with the free refreshments a nice treat after a long day out. Thanks :)
We liked all

Verified reviewGreat location. Very clean and helpful staff. They were especially helpful when we were ripped off by Daia Kobe Beef (a terrible chain of restaurants in Asakusa that ripped us off with ridiculously over priced Kobe. If you go, avoid these restaurants.) Asakusa View was a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended!
Nothing.

Verified reviewCannot beat the location for staying in Asakusa. The pedestrian shopping center is right outside the hotel and you can walk to the Senso-ji Temple and Samurai museum. Very friendly staff, clean facilities, luggage storage in the lobby if you need it, and these rooms felt slightly bigger than our other hotel in Shibuya. That said hotel rooms in Japan run small so it's all relative. They get an A+ for their top floor lounge with free non-alcoholic beverages and snacks from 3-10pm. Excellent views and great local flavors.
We visited in August and the A/C was intense. It was a nice break at first from the heat but I didn't like going often from one extreme to the other. I found Japanese beds super firm (borderline hard) in general and this hotel was no different.

Verified reviewLocation was central to explore Asakusa and the facility was exceptionally clean, new, comfortable and so beautiful. We loved the buffet breakfast at the sister property across the street and enjoyed a lunchtime meal there as well. Stellar views from that restaurant. Each afternoon, we enjoyed the snacks and refreshing drinks at the lounge on the 10th floor and really enjoyed that space as well with the view of the sky tree. We were lucky enough to catch a Geisha performance right at the hotel which was unique and so entertaining and fun. I look forward to returning to Asakusa View Annex Rokku every time I’m in Tokyo. Loved it!
We all thought it was exceptional and wouldn’t change a thing

Verified reviewA very nice hotel with an excellent free soft drink and Japanese sweets facility on the 10th floor (between 3pm and 10pm). Well located with good baggage storage facilities. We also appreciated the - once again free - Geisha show on the Wednesday evening in the 1st floor restaurant. These were very nice additional touches which make this a lovely choice for a stay in Tokyo.
