We just missed the hourly bus on arrival ☹️ so caught a taxi. It’s out of town but this is its charm too.

Great hotel that feels colonial in style, massive rooms, great views and amazing outdoor onsen (one of the best). Staff were great and bus shuttle to town worked well. Reasonably priced bar meals (food delicious) as restaurant high end and after big day out it’s nice to stay in.

Quite confusing & a bit troublesome to get to onsen. Had to go to main building to take lifts to 6th floor and then transfer lifts to get to onsen.

We enjoyed the breakfast - though not very large spread, the quality was very good. Big outdoor onsen with several pools and different temperature, and great views of the Japanese alps and countryside. Hotel is a little out of town centre but it's charm is the view. There's no convenience store or food places near the hotel. There's a hotel shuttle service but timing is an hour interval so really need to plan well or it's a long wait. Hotel seems to attract large tour groups. We counted at least 10 tour buses during our stay. To avoid the crowd, we had our breakfast after 8am. The onsen is big enough so there's no overcrowding even during the peak after dinner hours.

Although it didn’t really bother us, I think the rooms need a bit of a renovation or a fresh look. They are trapped in the 80’s. Which has it charms but may feel a bit outdated

Amazing place and really comfortable! The views from our room were great and really colorful during sunrise. The onsens were also very practical. The beds were very comfortable and big and the fact that the hotel is providing their own shuttle service to the train station is ideal and very practical.

I found it a little bit pricy comparing to other similar hotels we stayed. The price didn’t include breakfast, and private onsen need to charge extra. I would expect some hot spring treat thinking the price we paid.

Overall it’s a great hotel to stay. Modern facility, clean room, friendly staff, the view from window was amazing!

It was a little far to drive up at night back to the hotel. But being located high up the mountain offers guests a good vantage view of the mountains in the daytime.

The Scenery lounge serves good food and has a great ambience. All the staff dish good English and are super attentive to customers’ needs.

You can tell the hotel has a long history from the architecture and give off for old people vibe as the first impression. But the room still looks new and clean. They reall did good jobs!

Exceed our expectation! The onsen blows our mind with forest view from high floor. The place is very well maintained and clean. We rent a car and the hotel is very close to takayama center, around 10 mins drive. Though there is frequent hotel shuttle bus service to the city center as well. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

When we initially arrived we were told we couldn't have the buffet dinner in the main Restaurant as there were too many bus loads of package tourists We found this VERY UPSETTING but it was overruled by a Manager

Just being a bit out of town and having to rely on the shuttle bus which was very full at times but reliable

Not much restaurants or amenities nearby resort.

Resort is very well-maintained and clean, albeit a little old. There is shuttle bus service between Takayama station and the resort. The guest onsen at level 5 and 7 is wonderful after a long day outside. It comes with indoor and outdoor pools. It was snowing when we were at the outdoor pool, it was an amazing experience. Housekeeping provides turn-down service every evening to prepare the futons for sleeping. We truly enjoyed our stay here.
