Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NorwayHad a family room with four beds. You lock yourself in, all is provided in the room; tooth brushes, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Great location with 7-11 close by, Ueno station a walk away and Senso-Ji temple all within walking distance. Great value for money.

United StatesNot a negative just be aware there is no elevator. The stairs are narrow. May not be ideal for someone with mobility challenges.
Clean room with good space for our luggage. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood. We found some good restaurants.

United StatesI did not like that it was further from a train station than I realized. I speak Japanese so it wasn't too difficult for me to navigate to and from the train station.
I liked how spacious the room was. Typical hotel rooms in Japan are teeny-tiny but this one had plenty of space. I liked how it was a tatami room with futon. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. There's a bathhouse a few blocks over.

IndonesiaNarrow stairs to get up to the 5th floor with luggage (no elevator). Manageable for us but might be a challenge for those with mobility issues. Would appreciate a later check out time.
Really great location for exploring either Ueno or Asakusa. No staff on site but very easy to check in/out with instructions provided. Room is a good size for family of 4 with kids (bathtub). We enjoyed our 2 nights and would stay here again!

United StatesThere's construction so early morning noise might be an issue for some.
The hotel was spacious and clean. It is located walking distance to a train station that connects to majority of the stations in Tokyo. It also located next to a great restaurant.

MalaysiaThe property did not have lift to the rooms. The door does not lock automatically and the people can come in when their face were scanned at the temperature camera. Should have put a warning to lock door manually, would be a great help.
Big space for the rooms and the bathroom. Easy access to the hotel location. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Easy contact less check in and check out. Self-service store luggage after check out. Down the road, just 1 minute away, there is AEON supermarket and a laundry shop. Spacious room for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Sweden- The mahjong table and office chairs are a weird choice for table but it worked for us. - No elevator (I don't care though but can be an issue for some). - No staff (again, can be an issue for some).
I traveled with my family of which are two small children and the room was very comfortable. The room is in Iriya which is very quiet and calm since it's mostly residential. Iriya subway station and JR Uguisudani is within walking distance and Ueno is only one stop away for a multitude of bars and restaurants. The staff was very accommodating and arranged a brand new microwave for us when we requested it. We asked for extra cleaning since the kids made a mess and it was taken care of quick and without any issues. The room has an excellent bathroom with a comfortable and nice bathtub. Perfect. There was a super market around the corner which had everything we needed in terms of breakfast and food. We're very happy and I will likely return.

United KingdomThe room was on the 5th floor and there is no lift. Not only that but the stairs are very steep and and some floors there is no handrail. When booking the page stated that rooms were on the ground floor. There are no staff on site, we were just given a code for a lock box. On entering we could only see one lock box and the code didn't work. This meant phoning booking.com to try and get in touch with the owner, which involved making an expensive international call. It turned out that we were expected to go up to the 5th floor to find the lock box for our room (we had been expecting a lift). Eventually a member of staff arrived to help us, but we had been waiting around half an hour in 36c heat having arrived from an overnight flight. Having finally made it to the room (leaving 2 suitcases downstairs) we decided it just wasn't practical, especially with 2 kids so tried to contact the owner to try and cancel. There was no answer so I contacted booking.com who said they would have to call the owner to confirm, but again they got no answer. They then said they would email him and he would have 24 hours to reply. We were only staying for 2 nights so in the event we weren't able to change hotels and had to suffer climbing up and down 5 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases.
The room itself was nice and very clean

GreeceThe room was very cold. We were unlucky and had some snowfall in Tokyo, but if the air condition was shut down for 2 minutes, the room would become cold again. Also, the internet was very slow (around 200kbps) which could not allow you to do any work. Also, the carpet had many hair - it could have been cleaned better.

PhilippinesNothing. Our stay was amazing. We'll definitely go back.
The area is very quiet. It is near the train station and different grocery stores. We love how spacious the room was. It ia very different compared to other hotels we've stayed in Japan. I love the self check in and check out. Our check in time request was earlier than expected. The room was very clean, amenities were provided, and a lot of.space for our luggages.
