Private onsen, amazing meals with French - Japanese fine dining cuisine, comfortable rooms and friendly service staff

    Property response:

Thank you very much for staying at Hakusui Onsen Takenokura Sansou. We sincerely appreciate your kind and wonderful words. All of our guest rooms are equipped with private open-air baths, allowing you to enjoy the hot springs in a completely private and relaxing setting. The open-air baths in each room are spacious and made using natural rock, providing a comfortable and rejuvenating experience. The hot spring water is drawn from deep underground in Minami Aso and is known for its beautifying effects on the skin. As the water is naturally hot, we do not add extra heating or cooling. Being able to enjoy the bath multiple times at your leisure is one of the charms of our private onsen. For dinner, we serve the “Saison Course,” a creative French-style menu. Our dishes, made with fresh ingredients from Minami Aso and across Kyushu, are designed to surprise and delight. The head chef brings out the natural flavors of each ingredient, presenting them beautifully on each plate. Many guests are pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the dishes are. A delicious meal also pairs perfectly with a good drink. The dinner venue has the atmosphere of a refined restaurant, allowing guests to enjoy their meal in comfort and style. We hope you will think of your stay as a unique experience where you can enjoy both hot springs and a gourmet restaurant. In the morning, we serve a traditional Japanese breakfast. The rice harvested in Minami Aso is exceptionally delicious and pairs wonderfully with the variety of side dishes we provide. You’re sure to leave the breakfast table fully satisfied. We will continue to offer our warm hospitality through excellent cuisine, soothing hot springs, and thoughtful service to all of our guests. 白水温泉竹の倉山荘 "I'm using a translation tool to translate this."

The french styled dinner was the best meal amongst my 3 Ryokan stays on Kyushu - exquisite and not too heavy. I like the outdoor onsen attached to my room too, offers privacy and i could adjust its temperature to my liking!

The room is ok, just a little dated.

    Property response:

Thank you very much for staying at Hakusui Onsen Takenokura Sansou. We are truly honored to hear that your stay with us was the highlight of your trip following your visit to Aso. In May 2025, we underwent a renewal, and now serve a creative French course for dinner. Our head chef’s cooking method focuses on bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, which consistently brings smiles to our guests’ faces. We are delighted to have been your favorite among the three ryokans you stayed at during your Kyushu trip. As you mentioned, the meal was elegant and not too heavy—exactly what we aim for. Each dish is carefully crafted to be something you'd want to eat again, and has received high praise from many guests. For breakfast, we shift from French cuisine to traditional Japanese fare. We offer a wide variety of dishes that let you fully enjoy the delicious rice of Minami Aso. Many guests find themselves unable to resist eating a hearty breakfast— Japanese rice, especially the flavorful rice of Minami Aso, captivates all who try it. All of our guest rooms are equipped with private open-air baths, allowing for a fully private and relaxing experience. The room you stayed in allows for temperature adjustment using the source hot spring water or by adding cold water, letting you set it just the way you like it. While the building you stayed in is the oldest on the property and may show its age, we are able to keep it clean thanks to the considerate use by our guests. In addition, our housekeeping staff takes great care in maintaining a high level of cleanliness. Thank you for your wonderful review. We will continue to strive to provide excellent service so that many others can have a similarly memorable experience. Hakusui Onsen Takenokura Sansou I'm using a translation tool to translate this

The atmosphere, the onsen with the sauna and cold bath too not to mention fine kaiseki and friendly helpful staff.

the tokonoma had a TV and a safe. I would rather had some ikebana.

    Property response:

Sir,Bruno. Thank you very much for staying at Hakusui Onsen Takenokura Sanso. We do not have staff who can speak foreign languages, so we will do our best to communicate with you. A ryokan located in the beautiful scenery of Minamiaso. The hot springs, saunas, and water baths pumped up from underground feel great, too. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did you enjoy the Kaiseki course meal? Since your stayed for 2 nights, I also changed the menu. We are glad that you enjoyed your meal. The main building (four-person room) where we stayed was an old-fashioned Japanese-style room with only a small alcove, and once we put the TV and safe, there was no room for anything else. If we can put flowers and other things that give you a Japanese feel, you can feel even more Japanese. We will use it for future reference. Thank you for coming to Japan and staying at our inn in Minamiaso. We will continue to provide good service so that more people will be happy. 白水温泉竹の倉山荘 hakusuionsen takenokurasanso
