Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No elevator, the curtain is not a black out.
The room is spacious as well as the bed. All amenities are avaliable, clean and calm. Location is great, close to bus and train stations. There is a possibility to leave the luggage in the room before check in.

Nothing.
We received a code for the doors, which is super convenient for self-check-in. However, our code didn't work so we got a bit stressed, but when messaging the host, they replied very fast with a new code that worked, so no worries at all! The room was SUPER clean. Very good space and facilities. We only stayed one night but I think it could be great for longer stays too. Could do laundry, cook and freshen up nicely.

It was a lovely surprise to find out we could check in a bit earlier, allowing us to leave our luggage in the apartment and do some sightseeing straight away. Beautiful little cosy apartment that has everything we needed. Its modern and clean. Nice spacious bathroom.

Good location within short walking distance to the local train station which is also where the bike hire locations and ferry to the islands are. Room was large enough and everything is modern. In room laundry was nice.

I don't like the bedding at all. It's very uncomfortable and the bed frame is prone to cause injures, especially in a such small space.
The room, despite the small size, is fully equipped with a mini kitchen, fridge, washing machine, and drying equipment in the bath room. The location is very convenient and easy to find. Although the check-in/out are self-service, when I did meet their staffs, they're very friendly.

bHOTEL Yutori is located close to the start of the Shimanami Kaido, a plus for cyclists. The studios are new and spotless. In a compact space every item needed finds its place. The shower is roomy, another plus in Japan. Even though communication is done through messages only, it is fast, easy and efficient. This is a great place for an overnight!

A really cute little apartment with everything you need. The host is very responsive and kind. Super comfortable bed. Close to where to hired bikes for the Shimanami Kaido cycle.

Nothing, I will return.
Good location for the cycling tour. Rentals are a short walk. Nice kitchen, decent sized refrigerator and a good washer. Was pleasantly surprised that American baseball was on the television.

The smallest kitchenette ever - difficult to do anything with it.
Excellent value very close to the train station and the start of the Shimanami Kaido. Comfortable couch and bed, good bathroom, washer and drying room.

Ok, the photos are a bit deceiving because the space was really tight. I understand this is Japan but this is by far the tiniest place we’ve stayed so far. The bed didn’t have a mattress, it was more like a pad and I really struggled sleeping many days. There is a sofa there that you can transform into a bed but uses a lot of space. There was a kitchen well equipped but nowhere to seat down and eat (no table) so we had to bought a camping table to eat.
The location was super convenient, a walking distance from the station y with many shops and coffee shops nearby.

Not so much an apartment as a larger bedroom that contains a lounge with a small kitchen and laundry area. There’s no table or chairs (besides the lounge). It’s a block away from the railway so there can be some train noise though we only noticed it on one of the four nights we stayed.
An automated check in/check out system but the managers are very good with their communication and instructions. The property is set up so that it is possibly to put together simple meals. Washing machine and a little balcony for drying. It’s in a residential area not far from the station and the ferry docks. Onomichi itself is a really interesting town , a nice temple walk in the hills behind it and of course is a jumping off point for the Shimanami Keido.
