Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room and shared areas. Optional cleaning; they leave sheets and towels outside the room if you opt out. Beds have comfortable toppers. Deep bath tub. Very close to train station and 7/11.

GermanyNot a deal breaker, but all windows are tinted - you can't see the view. The hotel is locater very centrally so all you would probably see is the nearest building over but I do like having the option to see outside.
I love staying at Belken Hotel Kanda. Clean rooms, good AC, good location, bean pillows and a complimentary coffee machine in the lobby - what else does one need? Laundry services is very convenient - you insert the money and collect washed and dried laundry 2 hours later. This is the first property I check after I book a flight to Tokyo and will keep doing that.

United StatesThe pillows, for me, were terrible. I slept on my travel pillow instead. I would have rated this a 10 if it weren't for the pillows.
The location was good. 3 minutes walk to the metro, so easy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Easy luggage storage. They have water, tea and coffee in the lobby plus other toiletries to take to your room....bath towel, tub salts, shave cream, mouthwash, etc. Bed was comfortable.

AustraliaThe room had windows but unfortunately they were not meant to be opened.
The room exceeded our expectations for a business hotel in Tokyo. It was comfy and spacious, amenities and facilities were plenty, staff were excellent, there's a 7-Eleven and metro very close by. Train station and restaurants are also within walking distance. Above all, the area is quiet enough for those who want to avoid the Tokyo megacrowds.

Spotlessly clean room, amenities and water provided at reception. Really comfortable bed and a harder pillow than what I was used to but you can ask to change it if needed. Room is small but typical of hotels in Japan, had no problem with a checked luggage and carry on. Staff was nice and held my suitcases for me on the last day here. Close to two major metro stations.

United StatesI do think I met the surly staff member that others have mentioned but other than that one person and all the other staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
I loved this place! I was able to use luggage forwarding from the airport to the hotel so we could get started exploring right away. I do think I met the surly staff member that others have mentioned but other than that one person and all the other staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the lobby amenities with the coffee and tea always available as well as other toiletries. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It was only a 16 minute walk from Akihabara. Well connected to multiple subway lines. Lots of great food within a couple minutes walk.

Czech RepublicThe room was a bit small and could use some extra storage, but that seems to be a standard for Japanese hotels. A minor invonvenience.
Perfect option if you are looking for a safe haven during your travels around Tokyo. For a fair price you get clean rooms with sufficient equipment and a very solid bathroom, all of that within a minute walk to a subway station and a convenience store. Not to mention that you can also take a walk to Akihabara and the Imperial Palace. The staff is very helpful and borrowed me a power outlet adapter.

GermanyI didn't see much difference to any other APA around, but the price was higher. Also, it's a bit of walking from the station: not a problem on a sunny day, but can be tricky on a rainy one. If you are booking a stay near Akiba, you can easily find cheaper options with breakfast included and closer to the station/electric town.
Clean and neat business hotel, cleaning every day, modern laundry so you don't need to tinker with a separate washer and dryer, free and tasty coffee and tea, quick elevators, a smoking place outdoors (rare luxury near Akiba).
