Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LuxembourgPay attention to the location - it was good for us, but it could be a bit far from the sightseeing places.
Very nice staff - they met us, explained everything and provided us with ice tea. The interior was very cozy, with the lounge area and even 24hours reading room. There was also free coffee and tea. The price was good for the area.

AustraliaJust had an excellent stay there! The owners were very helpful and accommodating and I especially appreciated that they stored my bag until the afternoon on checkout day. The guesthouse itself was clean, cozy and well-maintained. If u r hoping to chat with others or make new friends, just be aware that the vibe is generally quiet, my roommates preferred to keep to themselves so it’s best to be considerate and keep ur voice down. Overall, its a comfortable experience and Id definitely recommend Bells Cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay PS: It was a busy week during the summer holidays and the bus traffic was quite heavy... frequent delays. Decided to take a pleasant 30-min walk to Harunire Terrace in the Hoshino area. 10-ish mins into the walk, you'll find 01BAKERY, a great spot to take a break. Also, if you don't have enough time for a hot spring visit, there is a free cold water foot bath available to the public, next to the hot spring which is a refreshing alternative!

JapanI can't imagine you would be packing your own bath towel and they are not automatically provided here. Having said that, it wasn't any trouble to ask for them for a fee. But good to know in advance incase you miss the signs to let you know to borrow towels.
Very cozy and comfortable guesthouse with friendly staff. Even if your japanese is scuffed like mine they can help you along. I could ask everything I needed to know; what to do for daytrips/how best to get on the snow. Wonderful art and interesting framed posters all around the halls. Wonderful bath and bed.

PhilippinesThe hosts were very helpful and nice. The breakfast was delicious and filling, I really liked the apple juice. I prefer peace and quite , so I really liked the location, away from the hustle and bustle. Free water and tea. You can bring your own food, fridge, common space. There are also small lockers for your non-valuable stuff. There's a reading room/luggage room where you can place your large suitcases, pack/unpack which reduces the need for people with big bags to unpack/pack inside the room. Bonus : There were fireworks around that area on the day I stayed and can see it from the guesthouse :)

FranceEverything in the guesthouse was fine.
Nice guesthouse, not far from the woods, in a quiet neighbourhood and surrounded by trees. Its the perfect place to stay for birdwatchers, backpackers, and people who look for a simple and affordable but nice place to sleep in Karuizawa. In the evening, we could spend time in the living room and eat our picnics there, which was very convenient. There was also a fridge we could use. The owner was very friendly. The room was small as often in Japan, the common bathroom areas were clean so we have nothing to complain about. The room decor is very simple and minimal, it reminded me of student flatsharing when I had roommates and was younger, which is totally okay.

SingaporeNot a convenient location unless you drive. A very quiet 10min walk from Naka-karuizawa station, crossing a pretty red bridge, through a wooded area. Area will get very dark after 7pm.
Homely cozy setting in a very quiet wooded area at Naka-Karuizawa. I booked a bed in a 4 bed dorm but ended up having the whole room to myself. Host is friendly.
