Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe property was perfectly located so that we could get on and off the train so easily with my mom who needed a little assistance. I loved how there was a 7-11 and lots of food options nearby. The pajamas were also so comfortable and we all loved them, especially our kids! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind to us.

United StatesThe toilet sometimes smelled of sewage, which was bothersome since the shower, toilet, and sink were in the same room. However, the positives outweigh the negatives. I would 100% recommend staying at Vessel Inn, and I will return on my next trip to Japan.
This was the best hotel we stayed in Japan! It was so close to several train stations that it made traveling to nearby neighborhood VERY easily. We were even able to easily travel to Tokyo Station with our luggage to make it to the shinkansen. Also, their breakfast was AMAZING! They had sashimi and ikura to make chirashi bowls, along with other Japanese breakfast items. My mom especially loved their miso soup. The rooms were also very clean! The room was slightly small but so are other hotels in japan so it was not a big deal.

SingaporeOnly the water dispenser's location that was only available at level 5 which meant taking the lift everytime just to refill your bottles. It would have been ideal if every storey has a water dispenser to truly encourage guests from purchasing their own water which I did to save myself from the hassle.
Location was perfect, just a few stations away from Shibuya and Shinjuku from JR line Takanadobaba station. The hotel was cozy despite the cold weather during our stay. Room was comfortable and bed was clean, couldnt have asked for more.

United StatesThe room I had would be too small for two people, but fine for one person.
It was super convenient, just outside Takadanobaba station. Very clean, great breakfast, well designed room although very small. Good staff. Well managed and designed. It's not a room for hanging out in since it's so small although it has a small desk for one person. They also offer part of the breakfast room downstairs to hang out in.

United StatesA bigger room would've made a difference. We realize hotels in Japan tend to be on the smaller side. Our second hotel was larger though. No dislikes, just an observation.
Breakfast and dinner was amazing. Service was friendly and amenities were provided in the lobby. The room was cozy despite being small, which is not uncommon in Japan.

The rooms were clean, spacious compared to Japan standards and well equipped with kettle, microwave and fridge. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating of our special requests as we had a child. The location is very convenient in terms of public transport, shopping and food. Breakfast buffet had many options also for vegetarians (rice porridge, soup, bread, fruits etc.)

NetherlandsEven though probably traditional Japanese, the breakfast didn't appeal to us. We would have loved to have breakfast in the hotel, but we decided to go out for breakfast instead. When outside, however, it seems the breakfast culture is completely different. Of course, this is completely fine. We were not expecting a continental breakfast of any sort. We did not ask or address this up front, so maybe there are options available. The rooms are rather small, but I guess this depends on how deep your pockets are. Since space is scarce in Japan and an upgrade was not available anymore, we just made the best of it.
The hotel has a great location. Good accessible by public transit and right across a 7/11. The rooms are cleaned upon request, which in our case we liked a lot since you have more control about your stay. Amenities are in the lobby for you to grab whenever you need them and if you need them. This reduces waste. All in all, it was a great experience.
