Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe one big problem I had, was that unlike every other capsule hotel I have stayed in, the capsule beds lacked any kind of ventilation fan—so your capsule gets hot from your breath and additionally so if you have the light on. Honestly, they need to install a simple ventilation fan in each capsule where the back wall meets the ceiling, to get rid of the extra heat, and draw cooler air in from the hall. This was my one big complaint about the place--and it could so EASILY be fixed! I was there in March/April, so I worry how hot(ter) it might get in the brutal summer months (I ended up buying a 700-yen USB-powered fan from Daiso and I would run that in my capsule in order to get it cool enough to sleep comfortably.) A note to travelers with mobility issues: the hotel is on the third floor, accessed by climbing up 39 steep-ish steps. There is no elevator.
The capsule hotel is in a great location, on a high street with plenty of fancy shops. There is a subway station a couple of minutes walk away, as well as a big super-grocery store and plenty of places to get food. The two men who run the place were incredibly helpful and friendly. I asked if the hotel had a luggage scale, and one of them offered to bring his personal one from home--very kind and appreciated!

United StatesOne small issue: It would be nice to have better/larger shelves and/or more hooks in the showers. The shelves that are there are very small and unstable, meaning most of your clothes that you bring in has to go on the floor (of a wet shared space). I ended up getting an additional large towel (200 yen, one time fee) just to put on the floor just for this reason.
Overall, the BNB+ was quite nice and a good value. The location is amazing, right in the middle of the Motomachi shopping district - close to two stations: Motomachi-Chukagai on the Minato Mirai Line as well as Ishkawacho on the JR Negishi Line, making it easy to get wherever you want to go. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and at least one the staff speaks very good English. I thought I left my wallet in the lobby when I checked in, and the staff was incredibly helpful in trying to figure out what happened - going so far as to review the security video with me. They were also very responsive/timely in responding to messages through Booking.com as well. I got the feeling that they take security seriously. The lounge is nice with VERY large windows looking out on the main street, and microwave, hot/cold water dispenser, and other amenities. Of course, the toilets are amazing - with two unisex and two for women, and there are two showers (with very good water pressure). I thought two showers for 30 beds wouldn't be enough, but I was there for four booked up days and never had to wait. There's a balcony for smoking and very small kitchenette in the back with a sink and single burner. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone on a budget and would stay here again myself without hesitation.

NetherlandsIt was dirty, and the showers/toilets area smelled like smoke the whole time. The toilets in it’s own were clean however the showers where gross, hair and mold everywhere. The bed was clean to but the mattress was so tin it hurt when laying down i barely slept in the 2 nights i stayed there. Also felt like there was a person actually living there while i normally wouldn’t mind as in todays society the person was quite loud en rummaging trough all the stuff the person brought very very early in the morning
The location was fine very closeby chinatown and the metro station

United StatesThe facility was too warm. Wish that the lights in the hallway could be lowered at night. If wall at the living room was extended up to ceiling, guests could better talk and socialize. We are encouraged to be very quiet as the sound in the common living room travels into the sleeping area because the wall is not complete. I don't understand why the facial recognition camera was there for entry. We use a 4 digit code for entry, why did we put our face to the camera. Where is that fill kept, and for what reason?
No breakfast included here.

GermanyThe check-in requires a lot of steps: typing in your name, email (make sure to not mistype) etc, then taking a picture of your face, a scan of your passport (have it ready!) and then you have to scan a QR code (don't forget to open in in the browser, they won't show you the code again). Also, there's no elevator so you have to carry your luggage two pair of stairs. Sometimes the wifi is not so good. The "kitchen" is impossible to use. No pot/tablewear/...
I liked the view from the shared living room. There's a bar-like counter with a big window facing the shopping street below. The bed was comfy and the bathroom very nice. I really liked the entrance room.

CanadaIt is located on the third floor with no elevator, this makes it inconvenient for traveller's who have heavy luggage. Cannot check in before the indicated check in time of 4 which makes it inconvenient for any traveller who arrives before this time. Amenities can be costly if you need them (200yen for 1 q-tip, unless I missunderstood)
The capsule hotel is confidently located. Walking distance from many restaurants, a Don Don, the harbor and China town. It is also very easy to get to multiple public transit lines. Facilities are clean and the check in process is easier than it seems.

JapanThe hostel is located on level 3 with no lift, be careful as the stairs are steep. The check-in was a little confusing, supposedly contactless, but it requires face recognition (photograph to be taken at the door), and then an entry code will be sent to the email used. Which then is a little strange that they require the scanning of a person's face every time we wanted to unlock the door to enter or even leave? It's not a big deal and we get that it must be for security reasons but it made getting in and out take a while. One of our lockers was used when we checked in, and the staff had retired for the night so we couldn't ask him if the key was missing or unavailable, he only opened the door to the sleeping area and asked if we knew our bed numbers before leaving quickly. So we put our bags in our sleep capsules with us, but if you have a larger bag or cabin-sized luggage, it's a little tight. There are only 2 showers. It's a mixed dorm with many capsules, but only 3 sinks, and sharing can get tricky.
Location is excellent and the bunks were quiet for the most part. There's also a refrigerator and microwave in the lounge area with a small space for meals, and an electric kettle. Soap, shampoo and conditioner were provided in the shower, as were hair dryers. There's a nice view from the lounge area and the nearest 7eleven is less than 5 minutes away. We only stayed the 1 night so it was sufficient. Amenities like towels and roomwear have to be paid for at the reception, self-help style, which results in less waste.

Japan1st- It was not clean when I was there. We stayed for four days and the toilets seemed like they were never cleaned at all. The same trash was there for 3 days, so I guess nobody cleaned the toilets. 2nd- The partition between the common room and sleeping room was open on the top which means everyone will hear what’s happening on the other side. It was New Year’s eve and were having a little fun, not too loud, but people came and ask us to keep it Silent. 3rd- This is a suggestion: Put a washing machine. Since the neighborhood is so posh and rich people live around the area, coin laundry are not as accessible.
The location was great! it was close to everything. the surroundings was almost perfect neighborhood! ☺️

CanadaThe check-in and check-out process could be a little easier, and there weren't larger lockers that could fit carry-on suitcases. The reception staff were also a little noisy in the morning (we could hear the staff door slamming), but it did not disturb us too much.
Very central location, with easy access to the train station and Chinatown. It's a safe area that I would feel comfortable walking around in on my own. There are also many food options nearby, and the facility itself was clean!

JapanAbove, but I'd say it was 98% score!
Beds and public spaces are clean, the washbasin and toilets were a little bit dirty with some remaining of the guests so I didn't use a shower room. Hopefully, showers and washrooms should be divided for sex. However, overall, it was a great place to work on a public space and sleep at night thanks to clean places, quiet environment and guests' manner.
