This was a very cosy place! The owner is really sweet and welcoming 💗 everything was extremely clean and comfortable and it was in a nice quiet location. Felt like being at home! With laundry, a well supplied kitchen, and even a comfy living room It’s a perfect spot for Pilgrims! But I think everybody else would love it too

    Nothing - everything was perfect!

I stayed with my partner during my pilgrimage. It was a very nice experience. The staff is amazing and they speak very good English. The room we had was spacious, clean and very comfortable. They have bicycles in case you want to make your purchase at the nearby Fuji Supermarket or just cycling around. I recommend it 100%

The bed and the pillow is the best I’ve ever had on Shikoku Henro so far. I took a wonderful rest there. And the hostesses are so kind that they try their best to communicated with you. It’s really the albergue for pilgrims on Henro :)

    Nothing !!

The staff were incredible and greeted me at the door with lots of information on all the things I can do in Sukumo and the help they wanted to offer to make my experience the best. Free tea and coffee and free shampoo and wash lotions, free towel and very cultural Japanese house with beautiful inside decor. Can use a bike from the guesthouse and bike round the roads full of rice fields and take in the beautiful green mountains and wildlife. So peaceful, I felt very at home here and can’t wait to visit again.

Beware, the lane that leads to the house is narrow and we encountered some difficulty driving up to the house when we first arrived. However, the host then showed us another place to park that was a short walk from the house. Unfortunately, we had some problems opening the front door after returning from dinner. Again, the host was very quick to respond when we contacted her through the "intercom" system.

It was a lovely old family house, so it felt homely. We were lucky to have the whole house to ourselves. Our futon beds were laid out in the room shared by my husband and I, and our son was in a room next to us in a bunk bed (dorm). His room had a lovely patio that looked out into a garden. Typical of a house, there was a spacious kitchen and dining area, and a separate sitting room. The toilet had a urinal and an interesting toilet which had a flap...quaint contraptions from a bygone era! (Which must have been modern then) The family bathroom was spacious with a closed-off shower-cum-bath room. The old family home had obviously undergone some thoughtful updating. It was a nice change for us to stay in a proper generous-sized house after being in more compact and busier guest houses.
