Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Czech RepublicThe accommodation is in a beautiful rural house. The house is well equipped. The host takes a great care for their guests, and does even more than what is expected from the host. For example, they explained me very kindly the path to a remote mountain, and also pointed out possible risks. As locals, the host family has a detailed knowledge of the surroundings. It was a pleasure to stay in the house. Highly recommended!

JapanIt was perfect !
The owners are the sweetest people ever. They are very friendly and really good at english. They showed me restaurants and places to go in Ōno, it was really useful. They also lent me a bike and an umbrella and gave me candies and homemade food when I was leaving (the onigiri was delicious) ! Thank you a lot to them !! Talking about food, the breakfast is very tasty ! The place is tidy and there is a very nice common area with kotatsu in winter. It's really peaceful and calm. I stayed in the mixed dorm but I was alone so it was nice haha. I slept really well and there is a lot of space around the futon to put things.

SingaporeNot related to the guesthouse, but the onsen they recommended was a too hot for us 🤣
The guest house is warm with relaxing vibes and very comfortable. It is run by a lovely family who were helpful and gracious. We appreciated that we could get a car ride to Mt Arashima's trailhead at a very decent fee too. The rooms were very clean, definitely one of the better guest houses I've stayed at for the past 1 month! Thank you for the hospitality, chats and recommendations 😌

AustraliaThere were some mosquitos,
This is a beautifully designed space. Staff are very nice too, and the coffee was excellent. Getting to Echizen ōno does require some additional navigation that was even confusing some of the Japanese travelers on the train. For example, you cannot transfer from the Shinkansen line to the local line using the IC card. You need to exit and buy a ticket. Train times from Fukui station and back are also irregular, so planning is required,

JapanBetter signage or clearer directions to the location, especially at night, perhaps using nearby landmarks.
The staff were very friendly and helpful when explaining house rules and their recommendations in and around the city. The common facilitates were also clean and well maintained. Optional breakfast, though slightly pricey, was really yummy with good coffee (they also run a cafe).

JapanFor the sake of improvement, its a little bit hard to move in the mixed bedroom. Maybe the space can be improved too.
The thing I like the most is the kindness of the owners. (The 3 of them) The owner even drive me to the station for free. He said it's his Otoshidama to me 🙂 The owner's wife voluntarily heated my breakfast in the microwave. And their son Ten is so nice too. He is the one who picked me in the station. He speaks english well! All of them are nice! The bathroom and restroom are so nice. It looks like a newly renovated.

AustraliaSuch a hidden gem especially for foreigners who might not think to visit the more rural parts of Japan, but it is easy to get to via train from Fukui city which can be reached by bus or train from tokyo or osaka/kyoto. Riding the provided bicycles around town was a great experience.

MexicoIt was not properties fault, but the rain stopped me for doing exploration when I arrived the town. Besides that, my experience inside the place was awesome!
The incredible and personal attention of the staff. I arrived Oko Town in the middle of a heavy rainy day. So the owner himself and a worker offer me a ride in his personal car to a closer restaurant. They drive me over, and pick me up a hour later. It was awesome! They were excellent people!

The food, the decor, the town, the whole area was extremely pleasant and I also arrived during the spring festival which made the experience that much better. The host was extremely helpful and polite and made my time in the city great, they even offered to drive me and my friend to the train station, saving us time and back pain from all our luggage. Great hospitality in a lovely Guest House.
