We didn't have meals at the property, but both of the hosts were very accommodating and friendly. They went above and beyond to fulfill my family's requests. We had requested a bassinet/cot but were informed that it wasn’t available at the property. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in, as the host had gone out of their way to borrow a cot from another lodge. We were very grateful for their effort in making our stay more comfortable.

The property was far enough from the town centre, but it was a bit too far from food and convenience stores. The bus stop was a good 5-minute walk away, though with limited services. We also found there were no available taxis due to a shortage of drivers, as we were informed by a local. As a result, we had to walk +20 minutes to and from the city centre with an infant, which wasn't ideal. Had we known this in advance, we likely would have hired a car for more convenience.

    Comfortable beds, large rooms.

Lots of stuff not working, old building in need of extensive renovations/repairs, under staffed compared to most Japanese hotels.

Heated floor in the common area. Lovely hosts and full service kitchen.

Bit cold overall throughout the entire place. Slippery in and out of the place given the amount of snow. Thats even after hours of snow clearing

It has so much potential and the workers that arrived as we left were great.

We were the first guests of the season which meant nothing was cleaned from the previous year. There was no effort made by the owner to clean the chalet before our arrival and made no effort to do so in the 6 days we were there. It was not at all worth the money. The house itself is beautiful and has so much potential which is even more unfortunate.

The owner was helpful. Our car got stuck in the snow, and she helped us out with the chains.

We were the first guests of the season, and the property was not ready. It was dirty, we had to wash dishes before using them, garbage bins were not there. Bathrooms were not cleaned before our arrival. Overall, it is a great property with good potential, but needs more work.

The location was decent, but it is about a 15 minute walk from Akakura Kanko.

It's an old building that needs some work. There were bugs in the chalet and the beds weren't very comfortable. Customer service also wasn't amazing.

Location is nicely rural but about 20 mins walk to town. Just something to be aware about. It had a good commercial kitchen where we could self-cater.

We were the first guests of the season and so some of the facilities were yet to be fully prepared.

It was generally fuss free and harmonious despite communal sharing. Many things are self help including water, kitchen and laundry.

Very poor communication online. No pick up services from the train. The owner of the inn was so carefree that he doesn't know where anything is and couldn't offer us good advice about touring the area.there were cobwebs in the room and bugs. Heating wasn't strong enough and I was still freezing despite using two blankets. Pathway to the door wasn't shovelled and is slippery to walk.
