Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaSome strange markings and fingerprints on the doorways
The room was large and the amount of amenities inside were great ! It’s a love hotel, so expect that kind of vibe but despite the semi confusing arrival (you have to use a phone in the parkade) the staff were friendly and responsive. For the budget it was a good stay

JapanThe air-conditioning didn't really seem to work no matter what settings we tried, hottest days we were in Kyoto which made it worse.
The theme of the room was super fun! The staff was super super nice.

AustraliaThe check in process and locking of room doors is a little complex, particularly if you don't speak Japanese. But we worked it out in the end. It is also a little far from main attractions.
This place was so fun to stay in for a night! The rooms are wild and great for a laugh. Comfortable and interesting and the staff were really patient and accommodating through the language barrier. Highly recommend one nights stay for the fun of it.

Hong KongUnfortunately this residence is not very ready to serve non Japanese speakers and has very limited effective ways to communicate to non Japanese speakers on how things work there - because the arrival-payment-departure arrangement is unconventional and is quite confusing for anyone who’s not as patient as me… Yet once one endure those, the stay would be a fun and interesting experience
A very special experience and interior design.

United KingdomI can’t speak Japanese so depend on google translate to communicate in Japanese. Most staff where very understanding and willing to use google translate but one receptionist made no effort to translate, was rude and hung up on me when I tried to order food to the room. The hotel don’t give you a room key so you have to call every time you want to be let in or out - that’s right, you get locked in. There was a serious fire hazard in my room with a paper lamp shade on a hot bulb and I could see where the paper and wood had burned through serveral times before. It was a smoking room (I didn’t ask for this, I don’t smoke. I have asthma 😂 and had to deal with the smell of smoke) so presumably no fire alarm. I got back at 10pm with my partner one night and waited 10 minutes in the cold for someone to let me into my room. Power to my room got switched off when I was in there. Extremely over priced - it was 3 times more expensive than any other accommodation I had in Japan and the standard was worse. Room wasn’t very clean - someone else’s used tissues under the bed. Only stay here if you have a sense of humour 😂 I found staying here very stressful.
The decor was funny and most of the staff where very charming and lovely.

CanadaThe room was not as clean as the japanese standard, there were stains on the wall and on the bed base (blood). There are no windows and no way to control the temperature of the room. The room was really hot. Nice pleasure hotel, but not that great for travelers/backpackers as it is 40 min from the city in bus.
Staff are really polite and try to communicate as much as they can in English. For one night the room might be fun !

United KingdomThe location is a bit far from the city centre , so we had to take two buses. The breakfast was quite simple. You don't get a key so you have to call reception every time you want to come in and out of the room.
I have never been in a hotel like this , so for me it was a great and fun experience. I liked that the room had a hot tub and it was very good value for money. The lady was really helpful even though she didn't know any English, she used the translator and ensured we understood everything. It was a little hard to find the reception at first, but once we found it, the rest was easy

AustraliaWe had no communication, no response back. Didn’t end up staying as we weren’t given a key & there were no staff to talk to, or call.
