Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA bit too expensive for my taste, booking.com did not make the price clear and even for last minute, paying upwards of 70 dollars for a room for one night wasnt ideal.
easy for a last minute booking when flights are delayed. Sizable beds (I am very very tall, especially by Japan standards and I fit just fine)

JapanYou get what you pay for. It's cheaper so it's missing some comfort that a more expensive hotel would have, but given that it has a private toilet and shower it makes it worth the price even if it's smaller. Perfect for one person, maybe a little too tight for two people.

JapanThe touchpad lock is not very sensitive. The location of the AC leaves my legs a bit cold at night, but given the room size, it can't be helped.
The location of very near city centre. The owner is very attentive and answer my questions almost immediately.

AustraliaThe building looks unsafe and suspicious. narrow stairs to go up and almost no lights in the floor of the accommodation. However it is safe and nothing happened when I was there.
Very close to the station and close to the centre of Tokyo. There was a toilet and a shower in the room eventhough if you are a big person you might not fit in the small space of the room. The bed is big and comfortable, it is a top one, almost the whole size of the room.

South KoreaThe room is super small so that the only place I can rest and fit my suitcase is the space beneath the bed. However the second bed is too low, I can only enter the beneath space while bending my back… That was a terrible time for a person with a hurting back like me :(( However the bed is comfy so I did enjoy time laying alone on the bed with the warm wind from the air conditioner that was placed right beside that. I think it was worth the money. But people have hurting back or just doest not like small room really have to consider about this.

JapanWhile they do provide the basic amenities, I would reccomend bringing at least your own toothbrush and toothpaste since the ones provided wont last too long.
The room, although quite small, was clean, and the hostel provided the necessary amenities. The bed was very comfortable and I had no issues when sleeping.

United StatesRooms do have a personal shower, but note that there is a shared toilet in the hallway. I hadn’t read that correctly before booking. The hostel is located in an area with a large concentration of nightclubs, including one on the way up the staircase of the building. So if you go out in the neighborhood at night, be prepared to encounter lots of soliciting.
Absolutely fantastic for the price. Conveniently located next door to a supermarket (Aeon) and mall. There are also several restaurants and convenient stores close by (Family Mart, 711, Ministop). It’s a quick walk to the Kinshicho station, which allows you to take the JR train directly east to the city center, or the Metro train (Z Line) a more round about way north or south. There’s also a really nice, affordable laundromat in walking distance if you need to wash clothes. As far as the facility goes, the rooms are clean and presentable upon arrival and the toilet rooms are kept nice. Rooms are left alone by staff for the duration of your visit so there is an area in the common space for you to separate your waste: plastics, cans, and burnables. They also provide basic necessities such as towels, toothbrushes/paste, shower soaps etc.

JapanThe hostel is located on the 4th floor but there was no elevator so my sister and I had to carry out luggage up the flight of narrow stairs. The first floor of the building seems like a snack bar and the surrounding area as well. This hostel is not for solo traveling women. My sister and I didn't feel comfortable walking at night with men staring at us.

JapanThe entry was hard to find with only a sign right next to a stairway leading to a hostess bar. It honestly looked like the pricing sign for the bar so we walked around a lot looking for the entrance! Be warned it is four flights up with no elevator, so not suitable for those with heavy bags. The first door was a little shocking as it was completely open to the stairwell with a camera facing you -- I wasn't sure if it was the right spot. I did check in very late though, so it is understandable that it was not staffed.
I liked the location. Very close to the station, but can feel a little odd walking up past the girl's bar with your suitcase into an honestly grungy stairway. For those who are unfamiliar with Tokyo it may feel scary. The room was super clean and the bed much comfier than expected! The door lock was very secure, air con nice, shower great. Bathrooms very clean. Overall, a great and affordable stay for those familiar with the odd peculiarities of Tokyo buildings! For someone who hasn't stayed in a cheap hostel in Tokyo before or who is very particular about where they stay, probably not the option for you.

JapanSmall, tight staircase hidden beside a restaurant and above a girls bar, so it was a little hard to find and seemingly at an unusual location. Indeed the room is tight, but efficient use of space if you don’t mind juggling your luggage and standing space.
Location is very near two train stations and not far from Tokyo Skytree. Clean, remodeled facilities. Enough amenities and decent bedding. Wifi was also decently smooth as well.

United StatesSmall issue, but in case any future guests read this: The door didn't unlock the first few times I entered the code. It seems the motor that moves the deadbolt is a little weak, usually you need to pull the door shut tighter to relieve the friction then it will be able to unlock. I noticed another guest having the same problem.
I stayed in the room with the mattress on a raised part of the floor, rather than on a loft. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable, and the room was clean and quiet. For the price (less than a capsule hotel) this was a great value.

PolandIt was absolutely tiny which made it hard to get into the bed, shower and toilet (I'm 185 cm. If I were any taller, I wouldn't have been able to use any of the afforementioned). The building is currently gutted (except for the fourth floor), and there are workmen everywhere and the accompanying noise. The stairwell is also filthy as a result. The building smells of solder. However, the room and hotel part we're clean.
The location was good for what I wanted to do.

PhilippinesMy passcode lock was having problems the first 2 days but it wasn't much of a big deal.
It was quiet, even if there was a bar downstairs. It was also clean and you have your own toilet and shower room! I will stay here again when I get back to Tokyo. It was also just 4 mins away from Kinschicho station, accessible to public transport.
