It was very cute and tiny, very traditional Japanese-style house. They gave you everything you would need to enjoy the hot springs.

It was a little expensive and overpriced for 1 night, and was a distance walk from the famous hot springs.

Well designed Japanese Style house. Comfy western style mattresses to sleep on. High end finishes. Baskets, shoes and traditional Japanese robe provided for use at nearby Onsens (pass purchased separately)

Fantastic house, so personal and warm. Good location, the whole town is within walking distance. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, making sure we had all we needed for onsen visits. Highly recommended.

Knives and forks would have been nice - otherwise, no complaints

Couldn't have been happier with this place. The hosts were lovely and the house was just beautiful. I love having access to a kitchen when I travel too and this one had everything we needed.

The staff was so kind and helpful, and the house was beautiful! Beds were very comfy and it felt spacious enough for a large group (6 people).

Location was excellent and in close proximity to the main streets and onsens. Hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and went through everything within the property as well as providing us with complimentary kimonos and showed us how to properly dress in them.

    Nothing, the location was phenomenal

Very helpful Owner/Manager who was well up with the translation technology. The house has huge amounts of charm and character and is really thoughtfully kitted out.

It is a bit of a hike to the onsens but this was well explained prior to booking. The camp chairs around the table were very low and made sitting at the table for meals a little uncomfortable

What a wonderful experience, beautifully restored old building with all the mod cons within walking distance to onsens. The hosts were so helpful and greeted us with big smiles. They even had basic cooking supplies on hand. Highly recommend

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming converted storage house, and it turned out to be the perfect retreat for two. The cozy space featured a well-equipped kitchen, making it easy to prepare meals. With the heat pump and additional heaters, it was super warm and inviting, despite the cold winter outside. Parking right in front was a real luxury in Japan, and a big plus for us. While the 8-minute walk to the center could be a bit challenging in the winter wearing the geta with sock, it was a lovely way to cool down after a relaxing soak in the onsen. The hosts provided everything we needed for the onsen experience, and their hospitality truly enhanced our stay. Kinosaki is particularly charming at night, and although it might not be my favorite spot in Japan, spending a night to explore the town is definitely worthwhile. The onsens may not be the best in the country either, but they offer a wonderful experience, especially when walking around in a yukata!!! Overall, this hidden gem is perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a unique experience in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend it!

Highly recommend, came here with my dad (german) and husband (Singaporean) and both loved it. The owners were super friendly and took good care of us. The place smelled nice and we felt like we had our own small home in Japan. If you are worried about the train being close by then I can only say that it was actually pretty relaxing to hear the train and they don’t drive that often. We were also able to cook us a Christmas dinner there as the kitchen is well equipped, my husband even bought a live snow crab from the market and was able to prepare it there. I would come here again for sure!

The walk to the Centre was totally ok for us (my dad is already 64) and appreciated after a lot of food but if you are not good walking a few minutes it might not be the best for you.

Wow. It was amazing. The perfect place. Smelled amazing too because of the cedar. The host even left us Christmas cookies! There was a Christmas tree set up! The details and personal touches were so well thought out. I loved that we were encouraged/invited to wear the shoes and yukatas(?) to the Onsens. It was lovely and cozy. We were all so impressed. The owner was so nice. It felt like you were staying in a pristine cabin. It was a calming and clean environment.

    Nothing. It was perfect.

The host was friendly, waiting for us when we arrived, showed us around and clearly very proud of their property. It was clean, modern, yet had old feel. Full kitchen downstairs. All beds upstairs.

It was great. We liked that it was not in the middle of the main part of town though some not.
