Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is nothing I disliked about my stay.
Amazing Stay at Children’s Cafe B&B Kimie! I stayed here for 2 nights with my daughter and cousin, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The house is beautifully designed—spacious, peaceful, and full of charm. Our room (#204) was spotlessly clean and offered a stunning view of the backyard, complete with trees and a serene pond. Kimie, the host, is an absolute sweetheart. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Each morning, she prepared us a delicious homemade breakfast that made our stay even more special. This B&B is perfect for families or anyone looking for a warm, relaxing experience in a lovely setting. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and can’t wait to return. Thank you so much, Kimie!

PolandIf you're a light sleeper, passing cars might create some additional noise - but it didn’t bother us at all.
Everything was great - the location is very convenient, just a short walk from the train station, with beautiful surroundings and nature all around. It was such a treat to enjoy breakfast with a peaceful view. On top of that, the Japanese breakfast was outstanding. Thank you so much for this lovely stay!

AustraliaLarge trucks going past on the main road can cause the building to shake, you do get used to it, but can be a bit alarming at the start
It is a 10 minute walk from the train station, the rooms are spacious with shared bathroom and breakfast provided each morning, cooked by Kimie herself. The beds are comfortable. Kimie is extremely welcoming and accommodating, she is extremely kind and easy to talk to, nothing is too much for her. A very safe and enjoyable space for a solo traveller.

CanadaNothing, absolutely nothing.
ABSOLUTELY WOULD GO BACK ! The house is lovely, my room had a balcony which was so nice to be able to open the door and hear the water below and the wind in the trees at night. The bed was very comfortable and I had AC. The house shakes a little when a big truck passes by, but honestly it’s not that bad, it’s just the quirk of an old house. The bathrooms are shared which wasn’t an issue even with other guests, even the big shower room was always free when I needed it. There’s a communal room downstairs and a communal balcony too. The host was great, always ready to help if needs be and her breakfast were absolutely delicious 😋 I would have stayed a whole month just to have her cooking on the morning. Be advice it is traditional Japanese breakfast with fish and side dishes. I loved it and couldn’t recommend it enough, such a nice home cook meal to start the day. The location was easy to find, you can walk around to see multiple temples and shrines. There’s a street with street foods and restaurant 15 min walk away which I was on every night 😊 it was very easy to get to the seaside from Kamakura station and than to take the electric “classic” tramway. Just be aware that a lot of commerce and the railway close early, so planned your day accordingly. All in all I spent a lovely weekend at the B&B and would gladly go back again.

Very classy, warm, enthusiastic & knowledgeable host with a big heart. Breakfasts were absolutely gourmet with the best miso in Japan. Very clean, comfortable & cheery. Near some main sights & bus stop but not in the middle of tourist chaos.

United StatesWalking from bus to bed and breakfast requires walking along a street with little or no sidewalk. Drives do seem very familiar and cautious of pedestrians though.
Comfortable beds and linens, cold air conditioner, several shared toilets for guest use, delicious home cooked Japanese style breakfast served on back patio overlooking a stream with fish.

United StatesThere was nothing that we didn't like, this was an amazing place to stay.
The breakfast was amazing! Some of the best food we had during our trip to Japan and it was great that we got to experience a traditional Japanese breakfast. The location was great, it was about a 20-minute walk back to the main area where the train station was but there was also a bus that ran frequently back and forth to the station, we both walked and took the bus. The city was great to explore and there were so many things to do, we also took a short train to visit the Kotoku-in Budda shrine nearby to see the Buddha statue. Kimie was an amazing and helpful host and it was great to learn about the things she's doing to help these kids. If we come back to Japan we will stay here again!

United StatesIf you are sensitive to noise, this might not be the choice because you can hear the cars from the main street.
The hostess was amazing! She spoke conversational English and was always so sweet and kind. Some of the profits from the BnB go towards helping children with food insecurities. She makes a delicious homemade and traditional Japanese breakfast. The view from her backyard is breathtaking. There are two rooms that face towards the stream, one is a bunk bed and the other a double bed. Make sure to get those rooms if you want a peaceful view.

MexicoEverything! It felt like staying with family. Upon arrival Kimie greeted us kindly, she showed us the facilities (very well equipped and clean). During our stay in our room she provided us a hot water bag to make the bed more comfortable. The daily breakfast was also complete, delicious and nutritious. Kimie is a very kind and fun person, she invited us to social activities when the opportunity arose and we had a lot of fun. The house is a bit far from the train station but can easily be reached via bus from the station. It is located near the beautiful bamboo forest and there is also a convenience store nearby. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. We felt at home and Kimie’s hospitality was superb.

JapanThe B&B had a nice view of the river. It was very relaxing. The breakfast was also very delicious. It was so tasty. I loved all of it. The salmon and mackerel was very flavorful. I enjoyed staying in the B&B because Kimie was very kind and very hospitable. I stayed over during the winter and she gave everyone a hot water bottle so the bed could be warm. The bed was also very comfortable and the bed sheets were very soft. The B&B is also relatively close to everything and there were a couple of bakeries around it.

FinlandAn only minor thing may need to concern if the guest is sensitive with sounds. The building is located by a busy road, so it is slightly noisy with big car passby during afternoon - early evening. But during the sleeping time is ok.
The host is super hospitable. The house has a nice common space and provides great breakfast. The bed is comfortable. The heater can be used in cold weather. Slightly away from the most crowded areas but still not far fromn some popular spots. Considering to stay again if I visit Kamakura again.

United KingdomI must say, it is not something I did not like but people should take note of the following, - It's a guesthouse and there is no lift, it may not be ideal for guest carrying heavy suitcases. - The wall is thin and I could hear the snore from neighbouring guest. It was not really a problem for me at night though. Please be quiet and respectful if you choose to stay there.
1. First up, I cannot give enough praise for the host Kimie. She's so friendly, personable, thoughtful and educated. I felt so looked after during my two-night stay at her place. In particular, in the second night temperature dropped. Before I knew it, she had already placed a hot water bottle in my bed. It kept my bed warm all night. 2. Kimie speaks good English and well-traveled. Her cooking (breakfast) was top notch and it was such a joy to share breakfast time chatting with other fellow travelers. Kimie effortlessly got everyone involved in a nice conversation, like a seasoned broadcast host. I admire her personality and applaud everything she does for her guests. 3. I also like the location where you are truly immersed in the local community.
