Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThis hotel is like my home from home. I always feel very comfortable staying here. This is down to the homely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by all the lovely staff. They always have time for a chat, which I appreciate when so far away from home. The hotel is so well situated in a quiet area, yet so close to the bustle of Kita Senju. There is no better hotel for providing accessories, and all the various free drinks, and delicious deserts, courtesy of the attached bakery, are a wonderful treat. My standard single room is well sized, and the double bed has to be the most comfortable of all beds. I enjoy staying in this hotel, and Kita Senju is an area I feel very connected to and happy to be.

IrelandThe foyer area is a little dated.
I loved the authenticity of the neighbourhood. It is a wonderful location and accessible to train service to busier hot spots of Tokyo.

United KingdomI should've stayed in the area for more than 1 day.
Hotel is right in the centre of Kitasenju, a very underrated part of Tokyo. Free drinks from 5-8pm Very quiet considering how busy the area is.

AustraliaToilet seat was stained which you wouldn’t be able to clean because of old age it need to be replaced. That was the only disappointment.
Location was excellent, close to train station, shops and restaurants. Also close to centre of Tokyo. Hotel staff were efficient. There was a massage chair in the room and a public bath for customers

AustraliaWould have loved if the public bath was tattoo friendly, the staff advised I could use it when no one was in there but I decided not to as I didn’t want to have to jump out mid bath if someone came in
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the size of the room is nice compared to a lot of the tiny hotel rooms in Tokyo so that was helpful! Great area, super close to the train station and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

United StatesThe room was tiny but then it's probably very common in Tokyo? And kind of far away from all the attractions. However, if you get a metro card, navigating the city is pretty easy.
Room was very clean, excellent shower and of course - bidet! Staff was very friendly and accomodating, breakfast very good too. Very close to Kita-Senju metro station - 5 minutes walk. Fun neigborhood with plenty places to eat. Overall - we were very pleased with this hotel.

United StatesThe AC was very confusing to operate. The AC controls are in Japanese, but typically I'm able to get things operating easily enough with Google Translate. For some reason these controls were very finicky, such that I had to ask for assistance from hotel staff to get the AC to turn on the first time. The staff was excellent, opened a window to help cool the room down quickly, and was able to get the AC running (once it got up and running the first time, it was very easy to operate from that point forward).
Typical Japanese small room, exceptionally clean and quiet. The hotel staff is EXCELLENT, as they really go above and beyond. Nice room layout, with AC and humidifier. Bathroom was nice as well. The one thing that is very different from most Japanese hotels is the in-room massage chair. Although the massage chair was nice, and not too difficult to operate, it is very small, and as such, it doesn't fit larger westerners very well. I also really liked the reasonably priced breakfast buffet (1200 yen), which had both Japanese and western breakfast options. There was also a very nice selection of drinks, including coffee, specialty coffee drinks, tea, and juice. They also have soda on tap available 24/7.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with any requests. The room was spotless and surprisingly spacious, especially considering Japan’s typical hotel room sizes. It was well-equipped and very comfortable. The location was another highlight—just a 5-minute walk to the train station, making it super convenient for getting around. At the same time, it’s not in a heavily crowded area like some prime districts, which made for a more relaxing and enjoyable stay. One of the best features was the onsen and sauna. The facilities were clean, well-maintained, and a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Overall, this hotel offers great value, comfort, and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful yet accessible place to stay!

IrelandI enjoyed a pleasant stay in this hotel. The location is convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. The hot bath is welcome. The various cosmetics and accessories are appreciated, as are the free gratis deserts from the nearby bakery, tea, coffee and drinks. The choice of tv programmes is limited. It would be nice if the hot bath remained open beyond 12 midnight to 1.00 or 2.00am. The room size for a standard single room is adequate, with a comfortable double bed. Overall, a good hotel to stay in.

United StatesSlight smell when we first walked into our room . Nothing too bad . Could definitely tell it came from the bathroom . The only complaint would be that it takes taxis/ubers quite a while to get to this location because of the amount of foot traffic in the area. So make sure to plan for rides a good while in advance.
Second time staying at this hotel , absolutely LOVE the location . Minutes away from train station , tons of food nearby along with shops , lively at night without being noisy . There’s a lovely bakery at the bottom of the hotel .

CanadaI think smart TVs would be a great improvement, or even just having a streaming device like Chromecast.
I was so impressed by the cleaning staff! The room was really clean, and the bathroom was immaculate. They were friendly too. :) There were free amenities in the lobby, even face lotion, which a lot of hotels don't offer. The free drinks and desserts in the evening were so nice! It was my first time staying in Kitasenju, and I would definitely come back. It was a lively neighbourhood, and we really enjoyed our stay.

JapanWe loved this hotel in Kitasenju. The little shopping street was so cute and had a really good coffee shop, which is something we found special. We needed to go to Chiba very early in the morning, so this location was super convenient for us. The bath was an added bonus! I got to have a bath while using the laundry machine in the women's onsen area. That was convenient!
