A traditional beautiful Japanese house in a beautiful location surrounded with beautiful bamboo forests. We were so pleased to stay here. Just wish we stayed longer 😞 There are some useful supermarkets near by selling local produce for cooking. I highly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for a real Japanese country side experience.

Beautiful traditional house very well equipped with an amazing kitchen and dinning area, well positioned, quiet and comfortable. We only stayed one night but wished we stayed longer. The check in and check out process was very smooth and we felt very comfortable.

Sleeping on mats on the floor would take a bit to get used to. The toilet is very close to the wall and a little tight for taller people. There is a modern toilet with more space in the detached building for anyone who would rather use that.

It was really fun to see and stay in a more traditional Japanese home. This home appears to have been added onto at least once over the years, and some updates have been made, but some of the main spaces appear to be original. It was very spacious and our kids were super happy to find a room full of toys. If we had stayed longer, it would have been fun to try out the super deep bathtub. The kitchen had everything we could need.

We had a great experience staying at this lovely home. We got to experience some of the features of an older-style home, but it was also in good repair and clean. There are lots of windows for good light. We loved the huge kitchen with so many beautiful dishes. Our host very kindly walked over in the rain to help with our wi-fi once -- otherwise, we had no problems. We enjoyed the rice shop and produce market close by, and were able to drive all around the beautiful Izu Peninsula.

    1. Quite hard to find/check-in at night. 2. Parking was at a different location. Need to walk through the alleys. It was difficult/scary esp for the first night when we couldn’t navigate well and still had to haul our luggages through the dark narrow alley. 3. Toilet and bathroom was separated by the kitchen so there’s inconvenience there. 4. Toilet space was toooooo small and old, with a dysfunctional tap. (Strangely there was a very nice toilet inside the shed but the shed is outside the main house). 5. Washing machine was in the shed which is outside the main house. Area to hang laundry was filled with webs from very hardworking spiders.

Kitchen was v good and well-stocked. Futon bedding was v clean and comfortable.
