I had the chance to see the inn before the renovation and meet Nao San. Nao San is a great host. The inn is beautiful and clean. The scenery around the it is wonderful and everyone, workers and visitors were friendly and welcoming!! I promise to come back and see the place after the renovation ;)

    Property response:

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! Your kind words mean a lot to us. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future! Kind regards, Yuko Nao

The hosts were amazing and really friendly, gave some advice on where to go and what to do, the place was clean and there were facilities for all my needs during my stay. The 500 yen bike rent was also very useful.

Dear Ricardo, Thank you very much for your wonderful comment and rating. We are also very glad that you stayed with us. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Kind regards, Yuko Nao

Wonderful house that went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

Location was a little out of town, but they offered transport service and located to many other sites other than onsens.

Yuko was an incredibly kind and welcoming host, very good location to cycle from and explore the Japanese seaside and Kinosaki region. Extremely affordable and budget friendly compared to other accommodation in the area, yet still very clean, cosy, and great facilities. Would 100% stay again if I was to come back.

Nice family run hostel, with tasty dinner and breakfast options available. Very cute cats that roam around and play with you. Nice facilities, although if you are taller you will hit your head a few times. Cheap rental bikes; you will need these.

Location was the biggest setback, 50 minute walk from kinosaki station on a super narrow road with a constant stream of cars on it. The buses only go until 8 so if you are out later then you will need to walk on the road with the cars next to you; there is no sidewalk. Very tough if you have bags/luggage with you

We really like the host Yuka, she is incredible. She speaks English and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The place is amazing, spacious and quiet. It feels like home and is so cosy The cats are an amazing added value to the house. 🐈 Location: quiet area, 1 minutes walk to the beach, 15 minutes bike ride from town. Yuka can pick you up and drop off to Station for a small fee. The area and location is good. The mountains & the ocean are 2minutes away. ⛰️🎣 Take a kayak and go for an adventure. Rent a bike and check out the amazing Onsen town. I recommend to go at night for less people. We saw wildlife: fish, turtles, deer, stork. We enjoyed the area a lot. This place is for Slowing down and see what the amazing country side has to offer. The hostel was quiet and we liked that. Thank you Yuka. You are such an amazing person! We will be back in the future. This was an amazing stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very cute place, run by a caring woman and her son.

The bus does have limited hours to the location. However if you plan accordingly it is totally fine.

Very cozy homestay option. The location is a bit far away from the main onsen town, but there is a bus that can take you there. Plus, the host also offers driving services there. Yuko is a great host that's extremely responsive on WhatsApp and made my stay extremely pleasant and relaxing. Because the location is farther from the main town, you can see the stars at night very clearly as you're away from the light pollution. Fell in love with the countryside of Japan on this trip.

Yuko-san was the most amazing host! She picked us up and dropped us in town, made us breakfast and coffee and cooked us dinner on the night we arrived. She had heaps of great local recommendations for the onsen town. The accommodation was a bedroom in Yuko's house with her partner and teenage son so you are sharing the space with her and her family. Her and her partner made us feel very welcome. We were able to borrow Yuko's bikes which was great for cycling into town - see my note in the below box regarding this. Yuko also helped me with calling the ryokan that we are about to stay at to ask them a few things in Japanese for me, this was extremely helpful. When we checked out, Yuko had found out we had recently got married, and handed us the most incredible bunch of flowers that she'd gone out and had her florist friend make for us!! It was such an amazing thoughtful gift.

Warning! If you plan on biking at night - bring bike lights! We wished we brought our bike lights over from New Zealand. In Japan they don't wear helmets or use back lights (or sometimes even front lights). We biked home one night from the onsen town back to the guesthouse - about a 20 minute cycle. At points there were literally no street lights and it was pitch black, plus there was a section of the road where it was JUST road - only room for cars and no option to go on the footpath because there wasn't one. It felt so dangerous and scary and would have felt a lot better if we'd had back lights on our bikes so that cars could see us!!

Yuko was great and arranged my pickup from the train station. She has bikes but to ride into town but I didn’t feel too comfortable riding at night, she was able to drive me a few time for a very reasonable price. overall yuko and her family were great and the house was very cozy!!

The beds are a little small and not the most comfortable

It was amazing to stay in kinosaki Hideya . It is relaxing and for us the perfect stop to get our energy back after Tokyo and Kyoto. There is a hiking trail and a beach right behind the house that we enjoyed . Yuko is a really helpful and amazing host and helps you out even when you are somewhere hiking on a trail and got some questions. We are more than thankful for the time and when we come back to Japan we will stay at kinosaki Hideya again.

Such a lovely little guesthouse tucked away just outside of Kinosaki Onsen. Run by Yuko who is absolutely lovely and goes out of her way to explain everything. Yuko also collected us from the station (for a small fee) and will cook you a cheap and delicious breakfast or dinner if you ask in advance. There's a cosy communal area to meet other travellers in and we stayed in the dorm room which was comfy. The guesthouse is about an hour's walk from Kinosaki but each day we borrowed and cycled into town, about a 20 minute cycle. There's also occasional local buses but we never used them. You can get a day pass for all the public onsens for 1500 yen - we were there on a Thursday when two of the onsens are closed, oh well. Overall 10/10 would definitely recommend to stay here, definitely a highlight of our trip, thank you Yuko!!
