It was calm and very traditional, exactly as we hoped. The staff was so precious and sweet we didn’t want to leave. We would definitely recommend. We got access to public onsens as well as a private one🌟

The owner is a lovely couple, they really try hard to make you experience the best time here in shibu onsen ! They even offer you to drive you to the monkey park ! It is possible to get breakfast (not dinner) directly in the room !

The kindness and thoughtfulness of the hosts were especially appreciated. The location is also incredible, offering privileged access to the surrounding onsens.

It wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s better to have your own car to explore the area.

Our stay at the Daymaruya Ryokan was unforgettable. The owners are such wonderful and warm-heartef people who made sure we had a wonderful stay. The ryokan has nice authentic rooms and great hot spring facilities. A public one for all guests of the hotel and a really nice private outside. Wirh the key provided by the ryokan, one has access to all other public hot springs in Shibu Onsen. A great experience. The owners made fresh coffee in the morning and offered transfer services from and to the train station and the nearby snow monkey park. We could easily have stayed longer!

Nothing. It‘s authentic. If you‘re looking for supermodern style this is not your place.

Such great hosts. They picked us up from the station, drove us to the monkey park, took us back to the station early. Shared thoughts on places to eat. Onsen was great, clean and large. Room was large.

It was great for the price we paid, it's not luxury or neat but homely.

The property was in a great location. The man who drove us around town was a great conversationalist and very friendly. Didn’t even know it was included with the property, but saved us tons of money and time.

The couple running the place are the sweetest couple you can find, they explained everything very well and were very nice to us. They give you free ride to the monkey mountain, you have a private onsen

The rooms look a bit old and outdated, but I guess it’s part of the experience

This was simply a wonderful ryokan The owners are a lovely couple - very kind and responsive, and they speak English The owner met us at the train station, took us to the Monkey Park, and even showed us where to find some delicious ramen (which we really did enjoy) The ryokan itself has a great onsen - just as good as public ones They also provided us with yukata, which was a nice way to experience Japanese culture At the end of our stay, the owner kindly drove us back to the train station I would absolutely recommend this place- one of the best we’ve ever stayed at!

One of the onsens is outdoors, though the water was very hot - I couldn’t stay in for more than 5 minutes (but I think it’s normal in the winter)

Lovely little ryokan run by a cute couple. Rides to and from station and to the monkey park were complimentary and the ryokan has a beautiful private onsen that guest can use.

We stayed at Daymaruya Ryokan for one night and had a wonderful time! The owner of the Ryokan picked us up from the railway station, drove us to the snowmonkey park and was extremly nice! We were able to communicate with both owners in English, got keys for the onsen in the town and even our own Yukata to wear at the onsen! We reallly enjoyed to experience a tradtional Japan and spending time in your beautiful Ryokan. Thank you so much!

Nothing - we loved staying at Daymaruya Ryokan! :)

I stayed here seven years ago, so we went here already knowing what to expect. The owners were very nice, they picked us up from the train station immediately upon arrival and the next day the owner gave us a ride to the monkey park parking lot. The accommodation had everything we needed. Count on the fact that even in March it's cold in this area and in the accommodation too, luckily there were spot heaters in our room. I would recommend ordering breakfast, it was delicious.

We LOVED our stay. The owners and friendly, kind, helpful and welcoming. Our room was large with a private wash closet. (Shower room is common). They picked us up and dropped us to the train, took us up to the snow monkeys and offered suggestions and advice about locations in town. They are always kind and we were happy to run into them in the hallways and say hello. They have male and woman baths and a private osen also available. You can place your order a traditional breakfast in advance of the morning if you want one. They have a map of the local area with recommendations for food. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Nothing.

Fantastic value! Excellent location near onsens and dining in Shibu Onsen. Incredibly hospitable owners who took good care of us and drove us where we needed to go. Room was much bigger than indicated on booking.com - big enough for our family of 3 - and had a private toilet and sink. We enjoyed the private on-site onsens, both the sex-separated and family ones. Note that pillows are traditional buckwheat husk pillows which may be too firm for some (they may offer western style pillows too - we didn’t ask). Kaneshin was our favorite nearby restaurant for dinner.

The hosts were kind and made the stay comfortable and relaxing. I liked the in-house onsen a lot and having access to the small onsen scattered across the town was great.
