Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesSmall room (maybe not by Japanese standards) but adequate and clean. Long walk to Ikebukuro Station; challenging when it's 35 degrees.
EXCELLENT ONSEN on the 15th floor! Cheerful, friendly and helpful staff! GREAT VALUE for the price!

TurkeyThe pillow in the room is strangely hard, but the staff will give you softer pillows if you ask.
There is an amazing onsen on the 15th floor. The warmth of it is just right, and it feels great after a long day of walking. It's a 10 minute walk to the station, but it's an enjoyable walk with some interesting stores so we didn't mind it despite the summer heat.

IcelandThe room was a little small, with not a lot of room for our suitcases, but we managed. The bed initially only had two single pillows which were somewhat hard, but once we thought to ask, we could easily get extra pillows, hard and soft, from the front desk.
The breakfast was excellent and had a lot of variety. The location in Ikebukuro was great - the hotel is close to Ikebukuro Station from which we could easily get everywhere we wanted to go.

South KoreaThe water wasn't as good as expected, and there's a lot of tourists so a lot of people just walked in to the onsen without washing their bodies first which made me question the hygiene of the hot spring water. Would recommend going in the morning.
Classic Dormy Inn experience, simple, free ramen, and good breakfast with an added hot spring getaway from chiba. Excellent staff, english speaking. 15 minutes by walk from ikebukuro station.

Lovely chefs for night time noodles - tho having them earlier would be appreciated. Lovely onsen. Excellent location, lots to do and see. Fine service, better for the planet not to change linens every day. Helpful front desk is appreciated. It’s a modest hotel but the towels are monogrammed. Small touches. Fun ice cream bar extras and microwave when needed.

AustraliaThe pillows were a bit hard and small. They were helpful to provide additional softer pillows.
Good location, 14 minutes walk to Ikebukuro Station, but it is a fun walk. We were able to use the train everywhere. Ikebukuro Station is busy but easy to get around. The hotel is near Sunshine City and many other shopping options. City views from Sunshine 60 observatory is amazing, hassle free, and a much cheaper option to Shibuya Sky. The onsen is nice and clean. There is an indoor onsen, sauna, and cold bath as well as outdoor onsen. It is a natural hot spring, which was our highlight to book this hotel. It was busy even late at night, but with 2 onsens, it was alright. We didn't have any breakfast or the free ramens, so I cannot comment on that. I contacted the hotel about luggage storage, response was quick. We had a good sleep, no noise coming from other rooms.. Overall good value for money. I was undecided on the location, but I am happy with it. Trains are easy to navigate. We took the limousine bus back to Narita Airport which was only 200 meters distance.

AustraliaLocation was a bit far from the other side of the station if you want to go to Tobu dept store. Not a problem since Seibu is on this side but it was temporarily closed when we visited so we had to cross the huge train station for shopping.
Good location if you are interested in Omote Road and/or Sunshine City. Rooms were a decent size for Tokyo. A bit older but clean and well maintained. Onsen was great, as were the free ice-creams. So many great food options around that we didn't try the free ramen but it was nice to know it was there if we were ever too tired to go out . Laundry was easy and convenient to use. Staff provided softer pillows on request with no issues. Able to store luggage for a few hours after checkout.

I loved coming home and waking up to the spa every day. Worth every penny! The room was a decent size too for a solo traveler. Free ramen at night is a bonus and staff is super friendly. The location was PERFECT if you want to be in an anime town. Easy access to ikebukuro station.

United StatesThe rooms are very nice and spacious.beds were very comfortable. Pillows were flat and hard. Front reception were not of best service and if you need anything you need to go down and get it which unlike anywhere else in the world, staff would bring it to your room. I would say the Koreans and other Asian countries de far ahead and have much better customer service and are more friendly and helpful. Onsen was very good although people in there can be very loud, they say ratios are not allowed to bathe who have tattoos but I saw plenty of people who had tattoos in there using the baths.
