The aircon was broken for most of my stay meaning it was ridiculously hot at night, I struggled getting to sleep every night as I was sweating too much. The beds are uncomfortable and the toilets smelt a bit.

the bathrooms may look average, but the urinals were an absolute nightmare. either they were in a rush, or have bad aim. I had to hold mine and used the ones at maccas just around the corner.

If your really trying to budget this is good but it would be better to spend a little more to get somewhere nicer. No staff on site except housekeeper after check out time. Mattresses are really thin and uncomfortable and hard pillow. No secure locker for bags etc not much room to open bags and organise your things. Bathrooms were kept relatively clean but the floors in the dorm or common area not clean at all.

Very hard to find, google takes you too the building, but it's a beauty shop. Walked around in circles for ages looking. the entrance looks like it's for a business, has no sign clearly pointing out there is a hostel on level 3 I seeked assistance from a local even she was unable to find it. Once inside was messy, but there is no staff so it's expected. Also has a boxing gym above that had constant banging on the ceiling till 10pm-ish.. Mattress was about 2cm thick, pillow was a bag of uncooked rice or similar. But I will say it was very warm. Also there was no power point to charge my phone or wifi at the premises..

Air-condition is not switch-on all the time and it is winter so the place is freezing cold. The wifi is crappy and cannot connected most of the time, or wifi signal is so bad that disconnect by itself. It seems the staff only swap out blanket and bed sheets, but they do not clean the place, so it is quite dirty and messy. Finally, there is no switch the switch on lights, and it is dark when night, there is only a small lamp of lightning and it is totally not enough.

Location is great, just a few minute from JR Kinshichou station, and the station has direct train to Narita airport, therefore coming from and to Narita airport is really convenient. And the station has trains to most popular place in Tokyo so it really is great location. Also, despite it is located in a resident town, one can find most eating and shopping just around the station and close-by area.

I have visited Japan, especially Tokyo, three times. Each time, my travel experiences in Japan were fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed my trips because the accommodation facilities consistently met my expectations. However, during my most recent visit, I stayed at Hostel Kinshu, and unfortunately, my experience there was not as positive as during my previous trips. Several essential facilities were either inadequate or completely missing, which greatly impacted my stay. Accommodation Space: The sleeping area was extremely congested, leaving no personal space for guests. This lack of space made it uncomfortable to move around freely. Kitchen Facilities: The hostel did not provide a kitchen facility, which is an essential requirement for many travelers, especially those from Asian countries. Staff Availability: There was no attendant or staff available on-site, leaving guests with no one to address their queries or provide assistance. Lighting Issues: The accommodation area was poorly lit, making it uncomfortably dark at all times. Due to these shortcomings, I cannot recommend Hostel Kinshu to other travelers. Additionally, I experienced a troubling incident during my stay. I accidentally changed the password for the locker provided in the hostel, rendering it inoperable. I attempted to resolve the issue by sending multiple messages through my booking.com account, calling the emergency number numerous times, and leaving repeated messages, but I received no response. Frustrated, I reported the incident to the police. A police officer accompanied me to the hostel but was also unable to open the locker. The officer tried contacting the emergency number, but the calls went unanswered. Eventually, a staff member arrived at the hostel. However, he did not speak English, so the police officer had to explain the situation to him. The staff member then requested a master password to unlock the locker. Kinshu’s booking.com account. I saw a staff only once. People are very loud even up until 2 am, and no one seems to be enforcing any rules about that.
