Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGood location within walking distance to Kanazawa's main areas. Staff were all very lovely, and made us feel very welcome, including my 3 year old. They even gave us a childrens pack which included cute kids slippers, toothbrush/toothpaste and a sponge. This made my daughter feel super special! Breakfast was nice and we loved having the washing machine/dryer in our room. Overall, this hotel is great value for money in my opinion and I would stay again.

AustraliaNot sure how to use the trouser press, so an iron would have been great, but that was not a biggy at all.
Everything was great, staff were friendly and amenities were welcome. Loved that we had a washing machine and access to coffee and icemachine. Family mart and bus stops were nearby as was access to Kanazawa castle, Kenrokuen Gardens, Omicho Market, the samurai and Korinbo areas. The Higashi chaya older area and train station were a short bus ride away. .

It was perfect for our family of 6 including one baby and one teenager. The breakfasts were fantastic. Lots of choice and good quality. My husband lived the free coffee and tea in reception. We thought the set meal lunch on weekdays was excellent value. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed including washing machine.

SingaporeLimited housekeeping meant that we didn't have the option to fully tidy up our rooms every day - which makes sense from an eco-friendly perspective.
Breakfast was a great and delicious spread, with slight variations everyday. We chanced upon the summer festival on the last night of our stay, and it was a highlight because it was right outside our hotel lobby. Hotel staff were always warm and welcoming, and took a polaroid on our first day. We had the top floor which offered us a nice view of the city. Complimentary bath salts to use in our bathtub were also a pleasant surprise. Lobby was also beautiful, aesthetic and comfortable - for both food, coffee or working. Washing machine was excellent - though it took 3 hours to wash and dry a medium sized load. Shoutout to the staff member always decked out in a suit (not sure if he was the manager) for the warm welcome and travel tips. He added such a delightful touch to our stay.

GermanyA magnifying mirror in the room would be nice. Slight smell in bathroom. There is a bit too much plastic in the breakfast room.
Friendly staff, super helpful. Beautiful interior design (furniture in the room, even small items are carefully chosen). Washing machine in room. Comfortable beds. Very good breakfast. Very good value for money.

SingaporeNothing!
Very clean and modern hotel. Room had its own washing machine/dryer, microwave and kettle! Good enough breakfast. Front office staff were very friendly and helpful. There are more convenient locations for visitors to the city to stay in. However, that was mitigated by the city shuttle bus stops being very close by though operating hours end around 6pm. Highly recommended. Would stay there again!

One of the best value business hotels we stayed at during this trip. The hotel looks quite new, and the room was spotless clean. They put a lot of thought into the little details that make guests feel at home. Not only was there a washer-dryer in the room, but they even provided a shoe dryer.

HungaryThe hotel is wonderful. From Kanasawa Station, it takes 7 minutes by taxi and a quarter of an hour by bus and many shuttles. The castle is 8 minutes and the information centre 50 metres. The room is spacious for a Japanese hotel and the washing machine is simply superb. An iron can be brought right away if you ask for it. The staff are very nice.

I recently stayed at Tokyu Stay Kanazawa for two nights and was genuinely impressed with every aspect of my experience. The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect — it’s centrally located, within comfortable walking distance to most of Kanazawa’s key attractions, yet pleasantly quiet and peaceful. This balance between accessibility and tranquility is hard to find and definitely adds to the overall quality of the stay. One thing I really appreciated was the amenities desk in the lobby area. It was stocked with a wide variety of daily-use items such as combs, razors, cotton pads, hair ties, and more. This thoughtful detail shows how much the hotel considers guests’ comfort and convenience, especially for travelers who might forget or run out of these small essentials. The room itself exceeded my expectations. It was surprisingly spacious and well laid out, offering plenty of room to move around without feeling cramped. What stood out the most were the in-room facilities: a washer-dryer combo, a unique-style clothes iron, a shoe dryer, and even an air purification/ventilation unit. These features are rarely found even in higher-end hotels and are especially valuable for longer stays or during humid seasons. Another highlight was the staff. Every member of the team was incredibly polite, warm, and attentive. They always greeted us with a smile, frequently checked if we needed anything, and responded quickly and helpfully to all our inquiries. Their hospitality truly enhanced our overall experience. Additionally, the hotel provides a smoking room for those who need it and offers complimentary coffee, which is a lovely bonus — especially when you’re heading out in the morning or returning from a long day of sightseeing. All in all, Tokyu Stay Kanazawa offered a seamless, comfortable, and guest-focused stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kanazawa, whether for a short city break or a longer trip.
