The room was too warm, needed to open the window but had to watch out for insects flying in. No fan or ac in room.

Location was close to the train station, convenient stores and an Unagi restaurant.

Bathroom seemed a bit grimy to me- nothing too bad, but enough that I didn't want to stay in the shower for a long time.

Near Iseshi station, room was pretty spacious, staff were helpful, overall good value for price.

It was nice and quiet with a supermarket nearby. The bed was comfortable and it had pillows you could choose the height of. Many business hotels have high pillows.

EN HOTEL grew on me. I stayed four nights in late January 2024. I booked it mistakenly thinking that there was a public bath in the facility. At first I was very disappointed to find out that I was wrong. I hadn’t read the website carefully. At first, I thought about booking another hotel but I ended up staying and was glad I did because EN represents a great value. It’s conveniently located, and the staff seem eager to please. When I checked in to my room, I noticed the bathroom wasn’t as clean as I expected but they fixed it the next day. With the money I saved on lodging, I was able to treat myself to nicer meals in town, including the best unagi I’ve ever had. Next time, I’ll try the hotel breakfast, which I heard was delicious.

There's a sizable step up into and down from the bathroom. Be careful if making a middle-of-the-night trip while still half asleep!

The hotel is just a five-minute walk away from Ise's train and bus stations, and though unremarkable in style is clean and comfortable - the pillows especially! Our twin room, though not expansive, was of a decent size, and the bathroom was bright. A restaurant was attached to the hotel, and though we didn't try it, we were attempted by the discounted beers on offer during a happy hour in the early evening, especially since it served a couple of Ise Kadoya Brewing's excellent offerings.

The receptionist was not very communicative, we felt like we lacked a few infos (like there are free coffee and tea in the lobby). The hotel is only close to the station if you arrive by Kitetsu-Train. If you have to take the JR-Exit it’s a ten minutes walk (instead of two minutes). We didn’t try the breakfast (1.200 ¥ per person).

We booked an extra night last minute to stay indoors through Typhoon Lan 2023. The receptionist obliged without any question, asking us via Google translate to purchase another night via booking.com. Through a typhoon this was a nice and super study building to be in (as far as we knew). There was a supermarket nearby, a huge Welcia nearby and more.

The hotel was a 4 to 6-minute walk from the Kintetsu Ise-shi station, and a 10 to 15-minute walk from the JR Ise-shi station. Some of the staff were English proficient, and those who weren't used Google translate to bridge any communication barrier with us. We found out on our last night that all our modes of transport out of Ise after check out would be cancelled due to a Typhoon (Typhoon no. 7 aka Lan, 2023), and the reception calmly assisted us in extending our stay in our rooms by one more night at booking.com rate. We felt safe indoors the next day, cooped up in our 8th floor room through our first-ever typhoon experience. The staff even offered to do lite room cleaning (change our towels and collect trash) on the day of the typhoon. There were teabags in the lounge that brewed delicious tea.

There are not so many budget options in Ise, so prices are higher. So it's good value for money for Ise but pricier than comparable hotel in larger city.

The biggest problem was that the room did not match the photos. We were not expecting anything out of the ordinary, but when we arrived the room looked like it was from the 80s. Everything in the room was very old and not in good condition. The bed itself was not so bad, since we were able to rest well. On the other hand, the bathroom left a lot to be desired, since apart from looking like it was from another era, it was poorly lit and dirty. It did not feel hygienic since the walls and ceiling of the shower had mold. Lastly, the air conditioning is not adjustable, the hotel decides whether all the rooms receive heat or cold and it is not possible to turn it off! In our case it was very hot and we had to sleep with the window open. It really was not the experience we were looking for for the price we paid…

The hotel is well located, 10 minutes walk from the train station and the center. The staff was friendly.
