Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFloor space in rooms is small - more just something to be aware of in Tokyo.
Really modern well equipped hotel, great use of space and the bunk beds were very helpful. As expected in a Tokyo hotel there’s little floor space but 3 of us in our room managed. Really liked the daybed in the window as well. Friendly and helpful staff and great value for money for staying with friends and family.

United KingdomNothing. The place was great, loved it, if we come back to Ryogoku we will stay here again!
The staff were all super friendly and helpful! <3 Ryogoku is a fantastic district, it is clean, historically and culturally rich, but also modern enough to cater for all your needs. Beautiful parks, interesting sites, and amazing food choices all around, from the little food bars by the tracks, to the tourist info centre between the station and the Kokugikan, and the independent restaurants dotted around the place. We loved every minute spent in Ryogoku. A short 5-6 minutes walk away from the station. Most (if not all?) rooms are overlooking the river, and on good days the rooftop bar is a great spot to eat your takeout dinner and have a few drinks with your family/group/friends. There are at least 5 convenience stores (both chains and independent) all around, within 2-5 minutes walk of the hotel. Free to use washing machine/dryer on 4th floor with English instructions. I would say the downside is that there is only one machine for the whole hotel, but we managed to use it twice in 10 days without having to wait for anyone, so I cannot call it an inconvenience. There is a little magnetic whiteboard to write your room number and finish time on so others know when to come back if they want to get on the next round. A very elegant and friendly solution. Kitchenette in the room was perfect for longer stay, we cooked breakfast every morning before heading out to ensure our fussy kids got at least one full meal in at the start of the day. Likewise you can knock up a quick dinner or warm up your takeout any time. Small fridge enough for a family of four for a week, it was even too big for what we needed. Separate toilet and bathroom so the family can coexist easily. Very good shower pressure, great quality water (your skin and hair will know the difference).

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The room is close to a train station and lots of restaurant's.

United StatesFantastic location close to the transit and right off the river path. The Ryogoku area offered enjoyable walks and interesting culture, along with many great restaurants. The staff was friendly and the coffee was delicious. They even had a thoughtful cooler of Japanese craft beers, which was a nice surprise. My family enjoyed our stay very much and we would highly recommend it!

AustraliaNot as many train lines as in some other areas but still easy to get to places.
Fantastic design, like a tiny home it packs a lot into a small footprint. Really great design with double bed on bottom and single bunk on top, and the window lounge made a comfortable fourth bed. The room had everything you need and lots of mod cons. Close to river, was easy to walk to other areas and get to from airport. Nice and quiet area but plenty packed into the nearby streets.

Place was very well presented and exceptionally clean. Albeit small, it was exactly as sen on the photos. Beds were amazingly comfortable and the staff were so accommodating. Train was very close by into central Tokyo (2 stops). We had an added bonus of a water view.

The room was a great layout for a family of 5 with a view of the river and open roof deck to enjoy a cold asahi. Superb supreme coffee in the morning. The staff went out of their way to help us with booking restaurants and booking taxis when needed.

Hong KongWe had a triple room for 2 adults and 2 kids because that was all that was available. Coming to Japan for skiing with quite a few bags it was tight squeeze but that’s our fault, not Favs. The room is very comfortable and makes the most of the space.
Fav have thought of everything to make a comfortable stay. The shower is fabulous and beds super comfortable. Everything is automated/qr code which makes check in/out so quick and convenient but had staff on hand to direct us. Even when we checked in at 1am after a delayed flight. The coffee is great and it’s a very friendly place in an interesting area.

United StatesIt was a lot smaller than what the photos showed. Small room size is not uncommon in Tokyo but the photos were a little misleading. The cleaning schedule did not suit our schedule or needs. They pick-up trash by request but only clean the room for one day (they scheduled it the day before we left, we were there for 4 days). Even after they cleaned the room, the floors were not thoroughly cleaned or mopped (it was not carpeted).
Loved the cafe downstairs! So convenient. Coffee and bakery items were good! The location in Sumida is convenient. Close proximity to Ryogoku station on Chuo-Sobu line and Higashi-Nihombashi station on the Asakusa line. Lots of restaurants, konbini and grocery within walking distance. The Ryogoku sumo stadium and museum is close by. Good view of the Sumida river.
