Our experience from check-in to check-out was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. The included breakfast was a highlight—expertly prepared by the chef and absolutely delicious. Additionally, our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and provided the perfect level of comfort.

Staff are very friendly and can speak fine English. French-style cuisine is well prepared. Property is clean and has easy access to public transportation. Facilities are new and clean.

There’s no convenience store nearby. The room is a bit small, we found it a bit challenging to place two small luggages.

Extremely helpful and polite and courteous staff. Gorgeous views over the wooded valley and only 10 minutes walk from nearest bus stop with buses 4 to 5 times an hour. Really delicious French cuisine with Japanese accents. Very spacious apartment and wonderful hot spring onsen with tree canopy view to enjoy. Highly recommended

    Nothing

Impeccable service and great (Japanese/French) food. Can recommend room 101 with a great little semi-ourdoors personal hottub.

Windows in the room could be in a better condition.

Absolutely incredible staff from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. In particular, Yuuta was so helpful, attentive, and downright elegant. An EXCEPTIONAL breakfast and dinner were included with our room, prepared as Japanese interpretation of multi-course French cuisine. The view from the dining area was stunning. Absolutely wonderful. I believe all rooms include a private outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) where you can soak for hours while enjoying nature.

It can be hard to get to/from the hotel with large luggage if traveling heavy--the trip from Hakone-Yumoto station by taxi is a little long (expensive), and scheduling a taxi on your departure day from the hotel back to Hakone-Yumoto station can be challenging due to lack of taxis in the area.

Friendly staff, very accommodating, and beautiful relaxing rooms. The meals were fantastic.

Accessing this location without a car was difficult, and the hotel only offers a short shuttle to the city bus stop on the main road. The bus itself is jam packed with other tourists and their luggage - not for the faint of heart!

Somewhat outdated onsen tab and the location is not very easily reachable.

The room was great, service excellent, and the surprise of fine dining was delightful.

We found the music in the hallway at night to be somewhat disturbing and disruptive to our sleep, especially because it was louder.

Staff are exceptional. The onsen is to die for. The view and bus ride up might seem odd, but you get to catch the beauty of the "country side," which I also love to see.

The dinner and breakfast were great, and so was the room with the private onsen. The staff were all super polite, and my girlfriend and I have an amazing stay here overall.

It's not that easy to reach by bus, I wish they would've arranged to come pick us up at the bus stop, it's exclusive enough where I believe they could've.

Great room, and private Onsen was terrific. Staff was very kind and attentive. Meals were excellent!

They need to provide more instructions/ detail on how to get from the train station to the hotel for NON Japanese speakers. I suggest including this information in the Booking.com entry for the hotel and sending an email prior to arrival with the details on how to take the bus from the train station (in English). Example: From the Odawara train station exit to the bus terminal take the “T” bus line, ride 58 stops, get off at stop #256, Ubako-Onsen-iriguchi.

We treated ourselves with two nights in this hotel and had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely friendly and polite, especially their attention during dinner was on point. Our room had an authentic Japanese interior and a private onsen outside which you could look at from the inside. It was nice to enjoy and relax in after a long day. The outside area was built with wooden bricks and designed that noone could look inside. The food was a completely new experience. It started with delicious cookies in our room and ended up in the 9 course menu with lots of saisonal flavours and a mix between Japanese and French cuisine. Both evenings, we took the accompanying wine selection and loved it. The dinner area is also nicely decorated and offers great views into the forest.

It was a bit strange (and could be cold in winter) that the room only had a shower outside near the onsen. The sink inside the room was directly near the tea area and some electric and didn't provide much space. Due to the fact that the room's onsen was kind of a grotto, the room was quite dark and didn't have a lot of daylight (just be aware of it, there is not much they can change about it). The same applies for the smell. In the hallway and room, it sometimes smelled a bit moist. The breakfast on the second day had a lot of seafood - which was unusual for our European taste. I'm sure that if you tell them, you'll get e.g. the eggs Benedicts we had the day before. For the price of the hotel, we would have expected a bed that is more comfy and some fresh water each day. Be aware that the hotel is a bit off from the lake (as quite a lot of other hotels in this hill area are). However, there is a bus stop nearby that you need to walk up hill to.
