Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt's a great place for it's cost! Above our expectations! Host was very kind, place is clean, cabins are cozy (mixed dormitory), there is shower, coffee machine, snacks, bicycles 👍 and host helped us a lot with information how to get to Fuji San for sunrise 🌄, where to find bus at 3am. It was very helpful! We had a great night stay and a great hike on Fuji San! Thank you so so much! Highly recommend this place for hikers!

TaiwanThe only thing I would say is the wooden ladder of the mixed dormitory. It’s kinda sharp and always hit my feet when I walk down. Probably adding some soft cover will help!
Nearly perfect Good location Brilliant view Plenty of free item( Snacks, Tea, Ear plugs, Masks, Lantern for the third floor, bikes etc.) Nice price It is the best hostel I’ve even been to.

SwitzerlandThe AC is a bit cold in the room and no remote there.
They helped me planning my hike for mt.fuji, with the bus and train rides and even with the weather. The free bike are perfect to cicle the lakes or just buy food in a store. The terrace has a perfect view for mt.fuji.

GermanyI looked for the following criteria when booking this accommodation: 1) Shortest walking distance for public transport 2) Low cost compared to others Both were fulfilled. We basically only used the room for sleeping. It is 10 min walking from Kawaguchiko Station with local train and bus. We were coming by train from Matsumoto and going to Shinjuku by bus from there. The guest house has a nice rooftop with view on Mt. Fuji and free bikes. We used them to go around the Kawaguchi lake which was a good decision (took 3h with some stops).

Stayed in a Japanese style room with futons which were very comfortable. The shared bathroom facilities were really clean and well equipped. They had free bike hire, tea and coffee facilities as well as snacks. View of Mount Fuji from the rooftop is amazing. Staff very friendly. Would happily stay again.

Loved everything! The beds were comfy, the room was beautiful, the roof was fun, and the snacks/coffee were delicious. My son had a great time playing on the roof. About a 10 minute walk to the main street. Lots of good food options within walking distance.

Beautiful place. The kindest staff, the best facilities, the cleanest dorms. Free snacks, tea, coffee available at all times. The view of Fuji from the rooftop is unimpeded and perfect. Having high quality bikes available for free throughout your stay - given the high cost of bike rental elsewhere in town - is the cherry on top of the cake. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. When leaving they stored my bags free of charge also. At this price, it's phenomenal value. Highly, highly recommended.

United StatesUnfortunately, it does get pretty warm in the capsule/bed. The mixed room's AC wasn't very strong and, maybe because my bed was the furthest down, it didn't really reach my bed, especially once I drew the curtains... I run warm when I sleep so I did wake up with a layer of sweat on me...
Fuji-san views were great! Staff was excellent and the facilities were clean and modern. Snacks and bicycles were very welcome. The 'room'/capsule/bed was bigger and more comfortable than I expected.

GermanyWonderful Guesthouse in walking distance from the train station. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff and a very good organization. The two big points for this guesthouse are the rooftop terrace with Fuji view and a free bike rental.

The roof terrace had an amazing view of Mount Fuji and the ground floor lounge area was perfect for resting. The staff really care about your stay and the beds were comfy. Francenothing everything was perfect
After years of traveling, I have to say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. First, The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. The gentleman was very kind and allowed me to check in early at no cost, and the lady, seeing that I was having trouble with the bike stand, explained everything to me, both in very good English. Second, The accommodation is less than 10 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko station, you can borrow bikes for free, the bed was very comfortable, and the rooftop is a must with an incredible view of Mt. Fuji (I had the pleasure of having my coffee there every morning). Third, Everything is incredibly clean, shower, high-end toilet. Everything is done to ensure you have a great time, small details to improve your daily life, for example the temperatures of the day, all the supermarkets in the area, all the activities in the region on a leaflet, and also when there is an event (in this case a hanabi matsuri) I highly recommend this hotel, they work hard and deserve the best.

NetherlandsIf you’re a solo traveller looking to meet others, this is not the place (it’s hard to find that near Fuji anyways). The atmosphere is pretty calm and quiet, but that was also very nice at times.
Beautiful guesthouse with very nice staff! De view of mount Fuji from the roof terrace was out of this world. The showers and toilets were clean and the beds were comfortable. Also the location is nice, just a small walk towards the station. The bikes were a great addition!

United StatesThe staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hostel was squeaky clean. The bathrooms are either new or were remodeled recently and are in pristine condition. The bed in the dorm was very comfortable and cozy. They offer free bicycles, tea/coffee, and Japanese snacks. There's a lovely rooftop with lounge chairs and a view of Mount Fuji. Not a party place. Definitely, one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at. Highly recommend.
