Great breakfasts prepared by friendly, helpful staff. On our last day, we couldn't find a taxi or Uber to take us to the bus station, so the owner happily drove us! What a great guy. Saved the day!

The girls working here were absolute legends....they went out of their way to help us get our luggage to the bus on the last morning. They greeted us with big smiles and a hot breakfast every morning.

The only downside was that, while shuttles run from the house, figuring out how to return can be quite confusing. However, this is more of a general issue with transportation in Hakuba rather than something related to the host.

The host was fantastic—very kind and responsive. The place itself is cozy and comfortable, with beautiful views. Having a shuttle stop right near the house was also a great convenience.

Yasen and his staff treated us to a very comfortable stay. Yasen was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off to the bus station on arrival and departure. The room and beds were comfortable, communal facilities clean, and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The included breakfast and coffee was a great way to kick off the day before hitting the slopes, and the shuttle stop was just around the corner. Yasen also provided helpful information on timetables for shuttles to and from the different resorts. Just a 10min walk from Echoland as well for those seeking dining and nightlife options. Would highly recommend the FunnyInn and will be back in future!

The owner was very responsive and a member of our group left a bag there and he shipped it to us for no cost. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Def worth it!!!

It was in a great location for bus shuttles to the resorts, it had a spacious room for our group and board/gear drying facilities. The shower and onsen/bath were the highlight after a long day skiing, and the eggs for breakfast was delicious!

Great accommodation and well located to Echoland. Family of four sleeping on futon beds and we had private bathroom. The room was spacious for Japan accommodation. Yasen was a fabulous host and staff, Taylor and Tessa, were also very helpful. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Location without a car was a little inconvenient, but host helped us by giving us tips

Breakfast was good, homemade and cozy. Yasen was very nice and explained all the facilities to us, as well as giving tips on how to get around and food to eat and helped us multiple times when we ran into troubles. Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Funny Inn.

Our experience at Funny Inn was absolutely fantastic, and what truly made it special was the exceptional kindness of the hosts and staff. We stayed for three nights, and the communication beforehand was seamless—clear instructions and prompt responses made everything easy. We were also so grateful for the complimentary pick-up after traveling across Japan with four kids. The property itself is wonderfully cozy, immaculately clean, and well-maintained. It's conveniently located near a supermarket and the shuttle bus stop, and we even enjoyed a pleasant 20-minute walk from the Happo Ski Resort. We had two rooms that were perfect for our family, fully equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was simply DELICIOUS! Every morning offered something new, freshly cooked right before us. The ability to access the kitchen was a huge bonus, especially with food allergies in the family. A special mention to Yasen, who went above and beyond to assist us when one of our children fell ill, even taking us to the doctor. Tayla and Tessa were also outstanding—they were always ready with a smile and eager to help whenever we needed anything, really cherished our little chats. Overall, Hakuba was the highlight of our Japan trip, and Funny Inn played a huge role in making it unforgettable. We can't recommend it enough!

Nothing it was all amazing

All the staff were so welcoming and kind at the property!! On arrival, we were met by Yasen the owner who made time to give us a tour of the Inn. Yasen ensured that we settled in promptly and made ourself feel at home. The morning breakfast that is provided was absolutely delicious with additional cooking facilities available throughout the stay. The private bathroom with onsen allowed for a great relaxing evening after a day on the slopes (not to mention the amazing view from the bathroom window). When we return to hakuba the only place we will stay is the funny inn. Thank you Yasen! We really appreciate you and all the staff for making our trip amazing!!

Yasen was incredibly accommodating and helpful, always going the extra mile to help us make the most of our tight schedule. The community kitchen was fantastic, well-equipped and spacious where we could cook our own meals. The bonus free breakfast was a lovely surprise allowing a quick start of the day. The free shuttle bus to the ski resorts is just around the corner, less than a minute walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Funny Inn and will come back!

The private bathroom with a private hot tub/onsen was amazing. The location was great, close to everything. The owner made it feel more like a home rather than a hotel which was wonderful. Would stay again.

The location was OK but it was a bit of a hike to the snow (about 20 minutes) if you wanted to get an early start and not brave the super-crowded bus. Similarly the convenience stores were all about 1km away in all directions but with some planning this wasn't too bad.

The rooms were comfortable and roomy by Japanese ski-resort standards. You could use the kitchen if required so you could self-cater if you wanted to save a few bucks. Breakfast was great - a set meal like bacon and eggs on toast and changed most days but I am sure that dietary requirements could be catered for. The onsen was small but we never had to wait long. Staff were friendly and helpful.
