Great breakfasts prepared by friendly, helpful staff. On our last day, we couldn't find a taxi or Uber to take us to the bus station, so the owner happily drove us! What a great guy. Saved the day!

The girls working here were absolute legends....they went out of their way to help us get our luggage to the bus on the last morning. They greeted us with big smiles and a hot breakfast every morning.

Yasin and his staff were very warm, friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to make sure you got the most out of your trip, provided advice on where to ski etc. Would stay again

Amazing stay! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the breakfast every morning is just what you need to start the day.

The room sometimes had a funny smell but other than that was comfortable and homely.

It was very homely, nothing was too much trouble. The owner and staff were fab. The location was great for us. Everything was perfect.

The rooms were comfortable and roomy by Japanese ski-resort standards. You could use the kitchen if required so you could self-cater if you wanted to save a few bucks. Breakfast was great - a set meal like bacon and eggs on toast and changed most days but I am sure that dietary requirements could be catered for. The onsen was small but we never had to wait long. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location was OK but it was a bit of a hike to the snow (about 20 minutes) if you wanted to get an early start and not brave the super-crowded bus. Similarly the convenience stores were all about 1km away in all directions but with some planning this wasn't too bad.

Yasen and his staff treated us to a very comfortable stay. Yasen was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off to the bus station on arrival and departure. The room and beds were comfortable, communal facilities clean, and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The included breakfast and coffee was a great way to kick off the day before hitting the slopes, and the shuttle stop was just around the corner. Yasen also provided helpful information on timetables for shuttles to and from the different resorts. Just a 10min walk from Echoland as well for those seeking dining and nightlife options. Would highly recommend the FunnyInn and will be back in future!

The owner was very responsive and a member of our group left a bag there and he shipped it to us for no cost. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Def worth it!!!

The bedding was very firm but we understand that’s traditional Japanese bedding.

Everything, the owner the lovely ladies who worked there, the free breakfasts were great, outdoor onsen was awesome. Really great stay will recommend it to anyone going to Hakuba

Location, pickup from bus station, host was very accommodating and provided great intel on skiing conditions, breakfast was easy! 2-3 locations to access from very close shuttle stop. Plentiful dinner options walking distance and hot chocolate/churro van available at end of night on way home!

Those who are less flexible may need a seat inside the foyer to take shoes off/on.

It was in a great location for bus shuttles to the resorts, it had a spacious room for our group and board/gear drying facilities. The shower and onsen/bath were the highlight after a long day skiing, and the eggs for breakfast was delicious!

Great accommodation and well located to Echoland. Family of four sleeping on futon beds and we had private bathroom. The room was spacious for Japan accommodation. Yasen was a fabulous host and staff, Taylor and Tessa, were also very helpful. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Breakfast was good, homemade and cozy. Yasen was very nice and explained all the facilities to us, as well as giving tips on how to get around and food to eat and helped us multiple times when we ran into troubles. Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Funny Inn.

Location without a car was a little inconvenient, but host helped us by giving us tips

The rooms have relatively thin walls, so you’ll get some noise from other rooms. Nothing crazy but it does happen

Yasen the owner was very friendly and picked us up at the Train station. Tayla and Tessa were awesome and made a geat breakie and had lots of pro tips on the local scene.

Our experience at Funny Inn was absolutely fantastic, and what truly made it special was the exceptional kindness of the hosts and staff. We stayed for three nights, and the communication beforehand was seamless—clear instructions and prompt responses made everything easy. We were also so grateful for the complimentary pick-up after traveling across Japan with four kids. The property itself is wonderfully cozy, immaculately clean, and well-maintained. It's conveniently located near a supermarket and the shuttle bus stop, and we even enjoyed a pleasant 20-minute walk from the Happo Ski Resort. We had two rooms that were perfect for our family, fully equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was simply DELICIOUS! Every morning offered something new, freshly cooked right before us. The ability to access the kitchen was a huge bonus, especially with food allergies in the family. A special mention to Yasen, who went above and beyond to assist us when one of our children fell ill, even taking us to the doctor. Tayla and Tessa were also outstanding—they were always ready with a smile and eager to help whenever we needed anything, really cherished our little chats. Overall, Hakuba was the highlight of our Japan trip, and Funny Inn played a huge role in making it unforgettable. We can't recommend it enough!
