Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesIt’s like a 20 minute walk from the castle downtown area of Matsue, but there are frequent buses so that wasn’t a huge issue.
Very clean, spacious rooms, good AC, and great shower and kitchen facilities. The host was really nice and friendly and happy to talk with us. He speaks great English as well! He was accommodating to our late check in time the first day and even drove us to the train station on our check out day. Would really recommend to anyone staying in Matsue.

JapanThis was my first time experiencing a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse. Although I only stayed for one night, it was a truly wonderful experience. As someone who is introverted and not good at communication, I was deeply grateful for Mr. Namba's kindness and helpfulness—he supported me a lot and I learned so much from him. There was no breakfast provided, but the location is very convenient, close to supermarkets, drugstores, and more, so I was able to buy food and cook for myself in the kitchen. The place was also very clean, well-equipped, with a spacious and quiet room. I feel a bit regretful that I came just to take an exam and couldn't fully enjoy the stay. But if I ever have a chance to travel again, I would love to come back here.

United Statesthe only true issue was location from the train station but if you can get past walking a bit there is nothing
I enjoyed how the owner was very nice and helpful in making our experience legendary. Yugi( the owner) is one of those people who will drop things to help make people's experiences awesome. I enjoyed the authentic sleeping on tatami floor with futons in a traditional room with a lot of food options nearby for us to consume that night. it felt very safe and enjoyable as a whole and stuff

JapanYuji-san is an excellent host. We felt so welcome in Matsue. He had great suggestions for nearby attractions, and most importantly directed us to the sweet little very delicious bakery around the corner. We were very comfortable at Azmo Guesthouse, all amenities have been well thought out.

AustraliaYuji, our host, was very helpful and welcoming. We had some very good conversations with him. Also, he kindly offered to give us a lift to the train/bus station to save us a 30 minute walk which we gratefully accepted. We virtually had the Guesthouse to ourselves with only one other guest there whom we hardly ever saw. We would stay here again if we came back.

TurkeyNothing comes to my mind.
The guesthouse is as clean as a home, and the manager of the guesthouse is such a nice person. He speaks English well, and communication with him was very easy. He even dropped us off at the Matsue Station on the last day. The toilets and the bathroom was always clean although the guesthouse was quite busy on our last two days.

DenmarkThe sites in the city are on the opposite side of the station. About 2km to the station and approx. additional 2km to the market and castle-site. Buses are not so frequent.
The owner of the guesthouse is very friendly and can tell a lot about what to do and see in Shimane Prefekture. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Facilities are good, wash-feteret is provided for a small fee. Nearby excellent supermarked options with fresh groceries.

The owner is really friendly and provided us with a lot of information about the things to do in the area. He even drove us to Matsue station when we had to leave early in the morning.

JapanThe owner of the guesthouse, Mr. Namba, is very friendly. He knows a lot about Shimane, where to go, best way to get there, how much it costs as well as how long it will take. His English is also very good. He is easy to communicate with. The rooms are spacious and open. Although you in a city, it feels like a countryside villa. There is a small Japanese style garden in the back. The location is convenient. It's close to many restaurants. However, I would advise making reservations at the restaurants.

JapanIt was easy to be woken up by the sounds of other guests and the kitchen door opening and closing. It would be best to leave the door open in the morning so early risers do not wake the rest of the house
