Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWhile the cleanliness for most critical areas- room, bedding, furniture surfaces and kitchenwares- met the expectations, cleanliness for some other areas- deep corners of the toilet, urinal, sink & bath, and side surfaces of some walls and appliances- left much to be desired. It appeared the owner made necessary efforts to keep the place in good shape for the guests every day, but I would suggest a more frequest deep cleaning of many of the areas.
Welcoming, coomunicative & accomdating owner. Ammenities, wifi, & are easily accessible. Comfortable & spacious room. Good pleasant walking distance to the nearest supermarket, which is nice, modern, and large.

JapanThe toilet is a little old, and there was a slight smell. The location was a little hard to find because the sign for the guesthouse is very weathered and not in a good position for drivers to see. Also, I think it would be a good idea to have a loud doorbell or buzzer, or maybe a light switch with instructions to turn it on at the front door. Even though I yelled from the front entrance and tried the doorbell, the owner couldn't hear me because he was watching TV. Maybe his hearing isn't as good as it used to be. So, I think a new notification system is necessary.
The owner was very friendly and hospitable! My room was cool and the bedding was comfortable. The owner made me coffee in the morning (^^)

JapanThe host, Takashi, was a pleasure to talk to and gave us great advice about a restaurant for dinner that we would never have found by ourselves. It was a wonderful experience to spend a night in a traditional Japanese home with a welcoming host who wanted to practice his English with us

FranceI was traveling with a friend, walking the Shikoku pilgrimage. Great homestay, we had couple of precious advises about life from our host who shared about his life. Very humbling and inspiring! Last but not least, we had a taste of rally driving the next day! Thank you very much again 😊

JapanI had the exceptional pleasure to pass a night in the house of Takashi ITO san, which is his guesthouse. Ito san is a very kind and friendly person. I was happy to stay in a Japanese house. I was in rooms in traditional Japanese stile with tatami, futon, many nice decorations and objects in the rooms. His guesthouse has the name of his ancient family. We have talked and laughed, we have made photos. Ito san has on the walls of his place photos of all his guests in the last 5 years, many nice people, couples, men, women. He has told me about two local traditional restaurants, and I made dinner in one of them. Hi is a kind and very friendly person. I was happy to meet him and pass a night in his house. I have the best thoughts about him. He reduced the payment in half because I was alone, but I could use both of his traditional Japanese stile rooms.

AustraliaReally, it was all good.
I can’t say enough nice things about this place. This is the best place I have stayed in since I arrived in Japan 10 days ago. The host was incredibly welcoming and generous and I was made to feel at home. The location is great for anyone doing the Shikoku Henro as it is very close to the route. Thank you for such a great experience.

AustraliaIt was filthy. The kitchen had built up grim that only accumulates with years of neglect and no attempt to clean. I wouldn’t boil an egg there. My room had frosted glass sliding doors next to the kitchen, so my room was literally until the last person went to bed.
